6 Fun Ways To Bring The Christmas Spirit Into The Office
There are more ways to bring the spirit of Christmas into the office besides the usual holiday party. Embrace the season and encourage your team to join in on the holiday spirit. I have fun, creative ideas to make celebrating the holidays exciting for your employees. Not only are these fun things to do, but also being festive boosts morale. Your office family spends more time with you than they do with their own family during most of the week—remind them it doesn’t always have to be all work and no play. Let’s get into the spirit together!
Decorating Contest
Have everyone decorate his or her cubicle/office and let everyone vote on the best-decorated pod. A healthy dose of competition is a surefire way to get people excited! Treat the winner of the contest to a work-from-home-day or lunch on you!
Photo Booth Props
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a typical holiday party—but make it entertaining! If you don’t have the budget to bring in a legit photo booth, get creative and make one! Set up a backdrop with a large festive sheet or paper; buy some fun Christmas props (think: Santa beard, elf ears, reindeer antlers, Rudolph nose), set up a camera, and take fun pictures of the team!
Grinch Pills
It’s really important to make sure the Grinch doesn’t come into the office to steal Christmas—aka keep cranky co-workers from busting your bubble of Christmas spirit. If you feel like your holiday spirit can’t be found—or maybe you’re just a little grouchy!—take some Grinch Pills! Share with your team if you sense they are on the naughty list. Just fill little plastic bags with green M&Ms and print out the Grinch Pill Poem and staple to the bag. . These tasty “pills” will take the Grinch right out of you!
Elf on the Shelf
This would be a BLAST if you did this in your office. If you don’t know the “Elf on the Shelf” story, read more about it here. Parents usually do this holiday tradition with their kids, but there is no reason to not bring it to the office! Dedicate someone (or you can be the one!) to make sure the elf is always crafty, silly, and fun! Here are some awesome ideas for the elf in the office.
Give into the sweet tooth
Holiday baking—cookies, brownies, hot chocolate, scones, biscotti, and more. Need I say more?
Secret Santa Gifts
Set a small budget of $10-$20 to get a gift for a person on your team. Put everyone’s name in a hat, have each person draw a name, and the person they choose is who they have to get a surprise for!
Depending on your company size, these could be smaller team activities or company-wide activities! There’s no excuse to not make the holiday season fun at work and share the Christmas spirit with your team. How do you keep your employees’ spirits up during the holidays?
