Stay creative when organizing team activities. We are returning to the our work environment in person more and more, but some remote teams will continue to work online. Perhaps your team is already spread around different cities or countries, whatever your work team situation is we want to inspire you to connect with your team, whether that is online or offline
Here are 6 team-building activities and ways to reconnect with your team.
1. Organize a (sports) competition
Bring out the competitive side of your team members and organize a competition with mini-games, from relay races to potato (or cocoa) sack races, bobbing for apples, or?donuts on a string race. You can mix active games with brain games so that all members of your team feel valued and can bring out their talents. Add a special theme to the day to get everybody in the right spirit!
2. Take a food tour
Look at your city through different eyes and take a food tour together with your team. Learn about the specialties of the area and learn how it connects with the history of the city.?Find a food tour in your city?or create your own.
You could even divide your team so that each group designs part of the experience and you guys become the guides! Food acts as a hook to help people engage, creates a more informal environment, and helps create connections that ease the conversations. Give your colleagues a chance to get to know you and for you to know them!
3. Give back to the community
There are plenty of local organizations that might need a helping hand to get some practical tasks done. You and your team can help out and give back to the community; create a win-win situation! How about helping your local elderly home decorate their house for Easter, go fishing for trash in your local canal or?beach, do a beach clean-up, or help out in a local farm to get their garden ready for spring. There are plenty of organizations that offer activities that need a one-off helping hand. Working together with your team on a tangible goal connects you outside your regular work environment while giving back.
4. Do a chocolate tasting!
If you are a remote team you already know the drill about meeting with your colleagues online, how about sprucing it up a bit??Do an?online chocolate tasting.
