Ramo, Lola, and Plume set out to find the painter and request that he complete the job so that the order may be restored.

This is a fantastic 2011 adventure flick. All of the figures were developed by director Jean-Fran?ois Laguionie, who was inspired by the painting styles of numerous French painters, including Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard, and André Derain. Audiences aged six and above are welcome.

3. UNE VIE DE CHAT (A CAT IN PARIS)

Dino, the cat, has two personalities. By day, he lives with Zoé, a child who has stopped speaking after her father's death, and her mother Jeanne, a police officer on the hunt for her husband's killer, Victor Costa. Dino helps the gentle thief Nico with his jewelry raids at night. Dino delivered Zoé lovely jewelry one morning. Zoé follows Dino one night to find out where he obtained it and realizes that her nanny is a part of Victor Costa's gang.

This excellent short form 2010, directed by Jean-Loup Felicioli and Alain Gagnol, weaves a web of mystery set against the classic background of Paris, and the jazzy music truly compliments the animation technique. Appropriate for older children and adults.

4. ERNEST ET CéLESTINE

Célestine is a little mouse who wonders why there is so much dread and loathing of bears in a world where mice dwell underground and bear live above ground. She and other youngsters gather teeth from under the bears' pillows every night so that dentists may use them to grow new teeth for mice. After a wild occurrence, Célestine falls asleep in the garbage, where Ernest the bear, an impoverished street musician, discovers her. As a result of their friendship, they are both shunned by their respective societies.

This great animated film from 2012, created by Benjamin Renner, Stéphane Aubier, and Vincent Patar, confronts bigotry and xenophobia in an approachable way for children and adults alike. All ages are welcome.

5. THE RABBI'S CAT (LE CHAT DU RABBIN)

This engaging picture on tolerance is based on the comic book of the same name and follows Sfar, a rabbi who lives in Algeria in the 1920s with his daughter Zlabya. His cunning cat swallows his parrot and learns to talk one day. Sfar wants to take the cat away, but the cat wants to stay with Zlabya and convert to Judaism, so Sfar teaches the cat Mosque law in preparation for his bar mitzvah.

This 2011 film, directed by Joann Sfar and Antoine Delesvaux, travels audiences around Africa and addresses various critical topics, including colonization and diverse religions. Appropriate for older children and adults.

6. ALL OVER THE WORLD (LONG WAY NORTH)

Sacha, a young Russian nobleman, has always been enthralled by her grandpa, Oloukine, and his daring life. He is an adventurer who strives to sail to the North Pole but goes lost on his most recent mission. Sacha sets sail in his footsteps to le Grand Nord, determined to discover his ship, the Dava (the North Pole).

This incredible adventure picture from 2015 is set in 1882 and was nearly fully animated in France under the direction of Rémi Chayé. Audiences aged six and above are welcome.
