6 C's For Elite Leadership

Through the implementation of our Quit Losing Talent Framework, we help organizations add millions to their bottom line by developing their leaders and fostering company cultures that WIN, KEEP, and INSPIRE employees
I love to use the term ‘Elite Leadership,’ but I don’t want you to mistake it for a destination.
?
Becoming a great leader is a journey, much like anything else of value.
?
So, when you read these 6 C’s for Elite Leadership, don’t think “I’ve arrived” or “I do that already.”
?
I’d like you to consider your current performance and decide how you can improve that area. The first C is:
?
1. Commitment
As a leader, your ability and willingness to commit is crucial for creating the culture you want in your organization. Committing to your mission, to your goals, to your word, to your values. It’s all important if you want to build trust. A leader who fails to commit to their word is a leader who will fail to build a trusting and engaged workforce.
?
2. Courage
Any position of leadership is hard. The courage to step out of your comfort zone and take care of things that you don’t want to take care of is part of your job. Addressing bullies in the workplace, complaints, financial concerns, etc. can all be uncomfortable subjects that will require courage to tackle.
?
3. Confidence
People see right through false hope. You need to believe what you say if you want your people to follow you with passion. Be confident in your plan and your mission and others will follow your lead.
?
4. Clarity
It’s hard to arrive somewhere if you don’t know where you’re going and/or don’t have a clear path to get there. You need to provide clarity for anyone you are leading in the goal of their position and the mission of the organization. From there, you can work together to create a clear path to success.

5. Calmness
Lack of calmness = lack of confidence. As someone leading a team, you need to be in control of your emotions. When people see you stressed, anxious, angry, etc., they will quickly follow your lead and lose confidence in the work they are doing.
?
6. Compassion
Managing different people requires different approaches, but compassion is universally well-accepted. Everyone makes mistakes in the workplace and it’s easy to get overcritical. Have some compassion for issues that go on with people whether they are inside or outside the workplace. Letting your people know you value them no matter what is crucial for creating a thriving culture.
?
Consider your level of mastery in these 6 areas. Don’t be hard on yourself, but be real about where you need to make some improvements.
