6 Criterias for Choosing e-commerce platform

We know that knowledge is power; you always need to ask the right questions regarding E-commerce platforms, your products/company products, and in general.

So, how should you choose the best E-commerce platform?

I know that most of the time, I'm talking about all the benefits that E-commerce has and why it's so important. It is best practice to constantly be talking about your products, posting articles, and so on, but now let's talk about what you need to check for when choosing or building an E-commerce platform for your company's products.

So, in the article, I will talk about six main criteria that need to be considered for choosing the right platform for your E-commerce activities. To ask the right questions, you need to know these six criteria.

Even if you are considering asking someone to help you, you need to understand what you will pay, how much money you will have to spend as time goes on, when your site's traffic will increase, and your E-commerce activities.

  1. Security – This is the first criteria you need to have on your mind. When you are selling online, there are scams that you will want to avoid. I don't think you can avoid them altogether, but you can significantly minimize them by choosing safer platforms or a popular online marketplace.

2. Support - I know this sounds cliché, but remember to think about the steps to take when things are working and what to do when it is not. If you are stuck and cannot sell, you must know what to do, who to ask or who to pay to fix the problem. So, make your plans when everything is working correctly.

3. Scalability - You start selling, and your products are live now, which is excellent. Keep in mind that you need to plan for future activities and how you plan to increase your sales. It would be best if you made sure that the platform you have chosen will give you a base for that, for example:

- Number of products that you can upload.

- Different payment methods (supported by the platform you choose).

- The number of deals that you can run at one time, and so on.

4. Vendor experience and expertise – I'm sure that most of you are talking with others before deciding which platform you will work with, and if you aren't, please do. Picking a vendor should be based on research and the experiences others had with that vendor.

5.Integration – From one side, there isn't much to talk about in this section but believe me, this is one of the critical sections you need to read.

After a while, you'll want to Expand, and you will need to start working with other tools, like an Email marketing tool/SEO tools/affiliates/analytics tools, etc. You must check and ensure that your platforms can integrate with these tools.

6. User-friendly interface – Most of the platforms today have a User-friendly interface. Still, you need to make sure that you learn all the parameters that this platform has to offer. Start by using the options you know, then begin to play around with the parts you do not know, making sure to learn the system thoroughly. Considering that most platforms with a user-friendly interface also have limitations of options to offer, beyond that, you should already have someone in mind who can develop what you want. But in most cases, what they offer is immensely satisfying.
