Need an inspiration boost? Frustrated by a lack of action on critical issues like climate change and want to join a community of creatives who are also dedicated to making positive change a reality?
I put together this list of six great organizations elevating impact on climate and sustainability to get you activated and connected.
Creatives for Climate
A dedicated community of creatives all working to disrupt the status quo. Creatives for Climate have a growing community, chapters around the world and really useful tools on combating greenwashing. They are also pretty savvy and create positive disruptions like this one.
Purpose Disruptors
Purpose Disruptors are on a mission to catalyze the advertising industry’s climate transition to align with the IPCC’s 1.5 degree global warming target. They have some pretty cool projects for activation and inspiration along with community events (such as Pub nights!).
Clean Creatives
Clean Creatives is a movement of advertisers, PR professionals, and their clients cutting ties with fossil fuels. You can sign the pledge as an individual or an agency to not work with fossil fuel associated companies and they publish an F-List so you know who to watch out for.
Creatives for the Future
A platform of creative, digital agencies, freelancers and communication professionals fighting to put sustainability at the center of companies' decision-making. The Creatives for the Future site is in English and Spanish.
Creative Systems Change Makers Group
Self plug here! I created this group here on LinkedIn a few years ago when I started writing on Medium about systems change and it's grown to a several thousand-strong community! Join to share insights and connect with link-minded systems-based change makers.
Design Declares
The declares movement has been growing over the last few years. This is where industry groups like cultural, architects and fashion professionals band together to declare a climate emergency. Design Declares is dedicated to the design profession and started in the UK but is expanding around the world. You can sign the pledge and explore dedicated resources for designers.
