6 Brand Storytelling Tips to Attract Your Ideal Latina Clients

As entrepreneurs, sharing our unique narratives authentically is key to attracting ideal clients who resonate with our mission. But we often face roadblocks like imposter syndrome, fears of being “too much”, and pressure to conform that prevent us from bold storytelling.

It’s time to break through those barriers! Your story is your superpoder. When crafted strategically, it attracts people who celebrate and support the real you. Not the watered-down version from your old job...

You know I'm always going to call you (and me) out when we bring toxic cultures into our businesses. That's why I have 6 action steps to help you leverage your story and make meaningful connections with your f*ck yeah clients.

Uncover Your Origin Story

Your origin story is the foundation for connecting with your audience on a deeper level. I cover this with exercises in the free Ultimate Guide To Building Your Unstoppable Brand . Take 10 minutes to uncover:

  • Your reasons for starting your business. What experiences, values, and passions drove you down this path? Write down the good, bad, and no tan lindo.
  • Pivotal moments along your journey. What challenges, setbacks, and triumphs have shaped you? Make a list of the things you are proud of, not just your abuelita or mami porque se lo conto a la vecina.
  • The lessons you’ve learned. How have you grown? Tu sabes already that we grow from our obstacles and setbacks, asi que write not just what you went through but also what you learned.

Really dig into the vulnerable parts of your journey. Show people the real you by being open about your imperfections. It builds trust and emotional bonds with you.

Try this origin story exercise:

List 3-5 pivotal moments, challenges, or triumphs that shaped your journey. Next to each, write the lesson it taught you or how it influenced your perspective. Finally, reflect on how these experiences shaped your approach to business and branding.

Align with Your Audience’s Aspirations

You need to resonate with what your audience cares about, truly and deeply. We are all tired of the perfect cookie-cutter basic AF videos. Estamos cansadas of striving for a life that is unattainable, and your f*ck yeah clients feel the same way. Ask yourself:

What are their pain points and desires? What changes do they want to create in their lives?
How does my origin story show I understand their struggles and dreams?

Proudly Embrace Your Cultural Roots

As Latinas, our upbringing shapes our worldview and approach to business. Share how your heritage, traditions, and values influence your work. Show prospects the power of connecting with someone who gets them because they’ve lived that experience.

And this doesn't mean ponerle perreo to every Reel or TikTok video. I love my Karol G and Bad Bunny playlist, but they can never surpass my love for Paramore, Linkin Park, and Three Days Grace.

Latinidad and cultura go beyond language (shout out to my "no sabo" friends), it's about feeling empowered, fulfilled, and thriving.

Use Visuals That Welcome Your Audience

Images, colors, and fonts create the energy you want people to feel when they encounter your brand. Develop a vibrant visual style that:

  • Fits your personality
  • Makes prospects feel welcomed, seen, and understood
  • Draws your audience in

Your brand story and copy need to be written directly to your ideal client, literally like how you would talk to them on a podcast, speaking gig, or coaching call. And your visual brand? It needs to go beyond stereotypical "Latino" Canva templates (again the triggers) and represent how you show up for your client in this particular moment of their journey.

For example, my company Unstoppable Latina is unapologetically Latina, but our visual brand is 80s and early 90s retro visuals because my ideal clients are older millennial Latinas who are finally investing in themselves and their businesses while also caring for their children or families. The brand shows my ideal clients that we are friendly, helpful, joyful, and create an environment where being a CEO and being silly is allowed while you heal your inner ni?a.

Si, all of that from logos, colors, and fonts. Work with a designer that knows their sh*t to make your visuals irresistible.

Infuse Your Unique Personality

Reveal your humor and personality through storytelling. Share amusing anecdotes. Be playful. Give people a glimpse into what it’s like to work with you.

Try this exercise to showcase your personality:

Make a list of your quirks, passions, and values. Then write a short story integrating 2-3 of those elements and demonstrating your spirit. Share it on social media or your website.

You can use past experiences, anecdotes from your day, or the way you approached a challenge or situation.

Spotlight Transformational Client Success

Social proof builds credibility. Showcase client stories highlighting specific transformations you facilitated. For example:

“After working with [Your Name], I [result client achieved]. Even when I felt stuck, [Your Name] provided the strategy, encouragement, and community I needed to [accomplish goal]. I’m so thankful for this journey we’ve shared!”

Keep it real. When prospects see themselves in past clients’ journeys, it resonates deeply.

And make sure you capture those client stories right after they work with you! Set up a CRM automation with a short survey or a fill in the blanks sentence like the one from the example to make it super easy for your clients to share their thoughts.
