Laavu's Reading Recommendations

"During my holidays, I finally have time for reading!"

Sounds familiar, right?

Laavu's book recommendations are in demand.

Thus, we wanted to share some of our favourite books with you. (This is not a paid collaboration with Adlibris, but we added links if you got interested in ordering these books.)

1.?7 Habits Of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

Based on Covey, how we see the world is entirely based on our perceptions. To change a given situation, we must change ourselves, and to change ourselves, we must be able to change our perceptions.

2. You're Not Listening: What You're Missing and Why It Matters by Kate Murphy

Want to improve your listening skills? Look no further!?This book casts a spotlight on the undervalued skill of listening. It's filled with examples of talented professional listeners and practical advice for getting more out of conversations with others – not by saying more yourself, but by listening more closely to others.

3. Atomic Habits by James Clear

If you want to challenge your habits, this is a must-read. Atomic Habits provides a practical framework for creating good habits and shedding bad ones. It shows how tiny changes in behaviour can result in the formation of new habits – and help you achieve big things.

4)?Grip: The Art of Working Smart (and Getting to what Matters Most)?by Rick Pastoor

If your calendar tends to be out of control, this is the book for you. Pastor shares practical, concrete steps to improve your time management skills, and you can start implementing them right away. Read this now, and you'll be better prepared for the upcoming months (if not even years)!

5)?Chatter: The Voice in Our Head, Why It Matters, and How to Harness It?by Ethan Kross

The usually less-hectic summer can offer a great opportunity to take a deep dive into your own mind. Reflecting on your inner voice is easier when the mind is not in the middle of the usual flurry of day-to-day life. Instead, you can take some distance from it, maybe find fresh perspectives – and get to know yourself better!

6)?Humankind: A Hopeful History?by Rutger Bregman

Bregman offers an interesting overview of our history. Besides its' hopeful and uplifting approach, the book's evidence-based insights about human nature and motivation can be useful for leaders.

PSST!

If you don't feel like reading, we want to remind you that napping, eating ice cream, and reading can be equally self-developing.

Enjoy your summer in a way that works for you.
