We're back with our regular dose of insightful articles, ESG job listings, career advice, and more.

This time, we're turning the spotlight on our thriving community. As our ecosystem grows, we want to celebrate YOU.

Join us this Saturday for an event featuring two of our alumni, Zeinab (Analyst at Sturbridge Capital) and Fabian (VC at Antler) will be speaking about their careers in Private Equity and Venture Capitalist space. It's a chance to connect, learn, and grow together.

We had the privilege to host Lotti Hawkins from Farrell Associates to speak to us about "What purpose-driven organizations look for in candidates", here are her five pieces of advice for anybody looking for a job in the ESG space.

1. Understand Your Career Goals: Before applying to a job, take the time to understand your long-term career goals. Know what you're passionate about and what kind of role you aspire to have. This clarity will help you narrow down your job search and focus on opportunities that align with your ambitions.
2. Don't Fixate on Job Descriptions: Avoid the mindset of trying to perfectly match a job description. Job listings are often outlines, and there may be room for flexibility in terms of qualifications and responsibilities. Instead of rigidly aligning yourself with the description, think about your skills and how they can be adaptable to the role.
3. Self-Reflection and Exploration: Reflect on your strengths, skills, and preferences. Explore different roles and industries, especially in the early stages of your career. You may not know your dream job right away, so consider various options and be open to learning more about what suits you.
4. Engage with Hiring Managers: When you're in the interview process, take the opportunity to understand the company and role in more detail. Ask questions about the company's culture, your potential responsibilities, and how the company operates. This demonstrates your genuine interest in the position.
5. Maintain an Open and Calm Approach: Keep an open mind during the application and interview process. If you feel that a job could be a good fit, don't hesitate to apply, even if you don't meet every qualification. Stay calm and collected throughout the process, and be honest with your intentions. Communicate openly with hiring managers and recruiters, and avoid making rash decisions that might lead to pulling out of the process.

Remember that applying to a job is not just about meeting the requirements listed in a job description. It's about finding the right fit for both you and the employer. Adapt your approach based on your career goals, interests, and the specific opportunities you encounter.
