5MM #97: The career advice I hated (until this tiny reframe)
Max Bernstein
Strategic Advisor | I help successful business owners become 'irreplaceable' by building AI-powered marketing systems
Happy Monday-
For those new to the newsletter, the "5-Minute Monday" is a series of three quick-hitters (hence the name 5-minute) designed to get you thinking early in the week about Marketing, Personal Development, and the Creator Economy.
?? Marketing
Proudly Expensive
From Marketing Max's "Growth Hack's Weekly":
When was the last time you saw a product own its high price so confidently that it made you stop and think, “Maybe this is worth it?” That’s exactly what Bodywell’s ad does… and they do it brilliantly. Instead of shying away from their $99.99 price tag for an EMF protection chip, they lean into it, flipping a potential objection into their strongest selling point.
Here’s what makes their copy strategy a masterclass in messaging and how you can use it to level up your own ads or landing pages:
1. They Address the Objection First
“$99.99 is a lot of money.” Boom. The very first line acknowledges what every potential customer is already thinking. But instead of letting this objection hang in the air, they turn it into the foundation of their pitch: if you want the best, it won’t come cheap. By doing this, they create a mental agreement with the reader—“Yes, $99.99 is expensive, but tell me why it’s worth it.”
2. Stacking Irresistible Proof Points
They don’t just say the product is premium, they prove it by listing tangible reasons. Each proof point adds another layer of credibility, making the price feel justified… even like a bargain:
3. The Closing Line Is Reassurance Gold
“Because you always receive far more than what you pay for.” This single sentence reframes the $99.99 as an investment, not an expense. It’s the final nudge that says: This is the kind of product where you won’t regret spending more.
?? Personal Development
You deserve to feel curious, surprised, and delighted.
What a great post by Amanda Natividad . But this applies to so much more than just job hunting. You can look at any opportunity, conversation, or project this way.
Maybe I have been listening to a little too many spiritual podcasts, but they remind me of the concept of approaching every day with a beginner's mindset.

In Tim Ferris's latest interview with David Whyte, David says, "It’s your ability to look on the world as if you’ve seen it for the first time..."
When you do that, things sure do look and feel quite different.
?? Creator Economy
Every Single Thing I’m Doing to Launch My $5,000 Course
Nathan Barry (founder of Kit) recently released his new high-ticket Creator Flywheels Course. In this YouTube video, Nathan goes behind the scenes with Darrell Vesterfelt to break down his entire offer creation strategy.
Even if you aren't launching something as expensive as this, he still takes you through his entire process, including messaging, pricing, positioning, launch strategy, offer structure, and overcoming objections.
I think Darrell charges a pretty penny for these insights, so it's definitely worth the watch. All the information is out there, you just need to do the legwork to find it. (I'm really trying to avoid going down the rabbit hole of how AI makes it even easier and what that means for the future of knowledge work, but we only have five minutes. So, until next time...)
Stay Curious,
