DES

Differentiated Services Code Point

Used in IP headers to classify and prioritize network traffic according to Quality of Service (QoS), ensuring high-priority data (like voice or video) is transmitted efficiently even during congestion.

DTCH

Dedicated Traffic Channel

A dedicated channel for user data, ensuring that each call or data session gets a stable, interference-free transmission path.

Discontinuous Transmission

A technique that conserves bandwidth and energy by turning off transmission during periods of silence or low activity, enhancing overall network efficiency.

Enhanced Common Public Radio Interface

Enhanced Machine Type Communication

A technology designed to support efficient machine-to-machine communication with improved coverage and power efficiency, ideal for IoT applications.

EMU

Environment Monitoring Unit

A unit used to monitor environmental variables such as power supply and temperature. It can also monitor alarms like fire, smoke, or intrusion via relay inputs and display the data on a network management system.

EMUA

Environment Monitoring Unit type A

An optional unit designed for monitoring cabinet environments, handling alarm processing and dry contact alerts to ensure safe and efficient management of cabinet conditions.

EN-DC

E-UTRA-NR Dual Connectivity

A dual connectivity mode combining E-UTRA (4G) and NR (5G) where the eNodeB acts as the master node connected to the EPC, while the gNodeB serves as a secondary node via the X2 interface.

eNodeB

E-UTRAN NodeB

An evolved base station in the E-UTRAN (Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network) that handles wireless transmission to mobile devices.
