5G in India: Samsung to enable 5G in devices by mid-November through software update, iPhones to get it in December

Samsung and Apple have announced timelines for when their devices will start to support 5G in India so users will be able to use and experience 5G services rolled out by telecom players like?Airtel?and Reliance Jio.

Samsung, today, confirmed that it will enable 5G support in its 5G-ready Galaxy devices in India through a software update that’s set to arrive sometime in the middle of November. Apple, on the other hand, will push out the necessary update to enable 5G in iPhones (iPhone 12 and above) in December.

Modi Cabinet approves Rs 22,000 crore one-time grant to PSU oil cos Indian Oil, BPCL, HPCL for LPG losses

The Union cabinet has approved a one-time grant of Rs 22,000 crore to three oil marketing companies – Indian Oil Corporation (IOC),?Bharat Petroleum Corporation?Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) – to reduce cost pressures and cover the last two years’ losses on selling LPG in domestic market. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that the LPG prices rose 300 per cent between June 2020 and June 2022. The grant will aid the fuel retailers to tackle the under-recoveries that surfaced during this two-year period, he said at the briefing after the Cabinet meeting.

Budget 2023 to focus on growth, address inflation concerns, says FM Sitharaman

Faced with twin challenges of slowing growth rate and high inflation, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday said her Budget for the next financial year will be ‘very carefully structured’ to help the economy sustain growth momentum and rein in prices.She identified high energy prices among the biggest problems facing the Indian economy in the near future. “Specifics (of the next budget) may be difficult at this stage because it’s a bit too early. But broadly, the growth priorities will be kept absolutely on the top. Even as I speak about the concerns that inflation brings before me. So, inflation concerns will have to be addressed. But then how would you manage growth would be the natural question,” Sitharaman said.
