5G Will Help Usher in Telepathic Communication

As various governments worldwide sequentially roll out 5G technologies in the mainstream, great interests as well as concerns alike arise on the prospects and dangers of this newly emerging telecommunications network modality. The efficiency and fidelity of the marginally launched Internet of Things (IoT) framework is primarily predicated on the relatively superior benefits that 5G offers—very minimal latency, faster upload & download speeds (100x compared to 4G) and stronger bandwidth connectivity—comparable to 4G.

Invasive BCIs require full penetration of electrodes and other nano devices into the deep recesses of the brain to record action potentials, electrical signals and other stimuli. Partially invasive BCIs barely penetrate the cranium but do not make their way into the grey matter. Non-invasive BCIs do not penetrate the cranium and focus on tapping neuromuscular signals primarily around the mandibular region and the external surface of the cranium. Invasive BCIs tend to record the most accurate signals and stimuli but government regulations, "ethical" concerns, plain bureaucracy and extensive requirements for clinical trials means much less resistance to first pivoting Human IoT projects with non-invasive BCIs.

The above diagram helps simplify our understanding on how multilateral telepathic communications streams would work. Neural impulses, neuromuscular impulses and other stimuli collected from a sending BCI integrated human subject will be relayed to a mobile station (smartphone device acting as a signal transducer and processor). The received signals will then be processed, transduced and autonomously transmitted to the cloud. Information requests and arriving signals can also be processed and transduced from the cloud courtesy of the mobile stations and relayed to the recipient BCI in real time. Telepathic communication facilitated by the cloud may necessitate the creation of a hyper, encrypted Brain Over Internet Protocol (BoIP) separate from our existing internet protocols. The intrinsic, strong cryptographic qualities of blockchain technologies may help in ensuring that these BoIP networks are cannot be easily penetrated or infiltrated. The setup would permit for unfettered information accessibility (uploads and downloads to and from human subjects as well as between humans and machines). Humans in resonance with each other or with machines (synchronization of thought waves) would be able to communicate and access information at free will.

The consequences for 5G facilitated telepathic communications between human subjects as well as between humans and machines include the following;

Leveraging BCIs and 5G mobile networks (or its future successors) will help dissolve the human-machine boundary and facilitate complete human-machine synergism
  3. Redefinition of Policies, Regulations and Frameworks on BoIP networks: Supranational bodies, governments, judiciaries, law enforcement agencies, media houses, insurance firms and corporations may need to formulate and apply a globally endorsed policy and regulatory framework that guides the fidelity and integrity of BoIP networks. For example, what scope of surveillance can governments conduct over these networks in the name of national security? How justifiable and ethical will access to these networks support predictive policing? What claim rebuttals can insurance firms make due to premeditated actions? How will judiciaries pass binding rulings on thought crimes? What is the scope of propaganda attacks that media houses can launch via these channels? These are very pertinent questions to consider.
  4. Obsolescence of All Existing Communication Channels and Media: E-telepathy facilitated by 5G will render almost all of our existing communication channels anachronistic. Why bother typing an email when you can fire multiple brain mails in a fraction of the time? Send an instant message? Nope, you lose the deeply intuitive, intricate and fundamentally conceptual details of brain-to-brain communication. After all, how much better can you get than deciphering an individual's thoughts without the bias and embellishments? Telepathic communication would potentially render obsolete any need for verbal, audible and kinesthetic cues as we can wholly access the core neural waves that underlie them in the first place. There would be no need for reading or writing, listening to anyone's voice or even deciphering their body language to figure out what they're thinking. You will easily know from their brainwave signals.
  5. "Brainternet": A BCI integrated human subject connected to the cloud is essentially a node within the IoT framework. Connecting these nodes in giant global network facilitated by 5G establishes a new internet modality, Brainternet. The development of Brainternet will also necessitate the development of software infrastructure such as coding languages, apps and AI bots that will run across the Brainternet. You can access information made readily available in other BCI nodes and you will require special resonance frequencies and/or biometric passwords to access proprietary information made available to only specifically intended persons. Novel infrastructure, architecture and regulatory protocols will definitely be required for the successful operation of Brainternet courtesy of all collaborating BCI nodes. The information accessibility and latencies currently characterizing our existing internet modalities will be several orders of magnitude below that of Brainternet. The possibilities are simply endless, amazing and exciting.

In brief summation, the very minimal latency and strong bandwidth connectivity of 5G (and its potential future successors) drives a major step towards autonomous telepathic communication predicated on complete synergism between man and machines.
