#5ForFriday

Haven't done these for a while however thought it may be a good idea and maybe helpful for people/connections to see again (please feel free to drop me a comment if it is).
I used to do a 5@5 blog that contained 5 pieces of interesting or best practice info relating to the health and social care working week, always including number 5 which was a positive piece of news in the wider world. So in a similar format I have decided to do a #5ForFriday here on LinkedIn articles just to send out some info that might be of use to you and your teams across the health and social care sector.
No.1 - CQC: yesterday's Chief Inspectors Statement came out highlighting an Emergency Support Framework to be rolled out from 4th May that includes; Using and sharing information to target support where it’s needed most; Having open and honest conversations; Taking action to keep people safe and to protect people’s human rights; Capturing and sharing what we do and how we do it. Take a look at the link for further specifics on this one.
No.2 - Government: Tuesday the Government released guidance on the reuse of medicines in care home or hospice settings. This will be a vital and welcome addition to homes and hospices that are finding issues with the sourcing of certain medicines required in the support of their users. Link is below and includes the correct templates to be added to your existing safe medicines management policies and procedures.
No.3 - Skills for Care - Skills for Care have released a direct advice line for all Registered Managers to access. This new advice line aims to support those managing CQC regulated adult social care services through the COVID-19 crisis. They can help you to access the latest information, resources, funding, online learning and other opportunities provided from Skills for Care as well as direct to latest guidance and practice during Covid-19.
No.4 - Government - with the daily Corona Virus briefings it was stated by the government that testing of all residents and care staff within social care settings including care homes is now available, including those who are Asymptomatic i.e. not showing signs or symptoms. In order to do this you need to get in contact with your local health protection team and you can do that by following the link below and put in your postcode
No.5 - Positive News - as always I try wherever possible to do a positive news or info item at the end just to spread the positivity across the readers so for this month and as it is the 1st of the month, this week's positive info goes to Action for Happiness and their monthly calanders. This month's very apt - May 2020: Daily actions to respond to this crisis with a sense of purpose and meaning.
So there it is new weekly #5ForFriday hope you enjoyed and got some value out of the items posted.
As always stay safe and remember "With hope and belief there are no limitations"
Thank you, Stephen
