#59 Nurturing Positive Post-Ramadan Habits

The blessed month of Ramadan has come and gone. Yet, that does not translate into abandonment of all things good and return to our pre-Ramadan selves. Instead, let's strive to keep on practising diligently our spiritual piety with discipline, which allows us to emerge stronger and more fulfilled as servants of Allah.

The Quran Illuminating Your Paths In Life

First, continue to stay close to the words of Allah through the?Quran. As we learn to appreciate more and actively ensure that the Quran continues to breathe light and blessings in our daily lives on a personal level and as a?family. Try to take another step in nurturing this specific habit.

As we surrender and immerse in the beauty of the Quranic verses during recitations, set aside time to learn the meanings and interpretations attached to it. This would help in implementing what has been learnt in daily lives by truly practising the words of Allah as we choose to live and breathe His words.

This is where the?Muslim Pro app?has become indispensable to millions of Muslims worldwide. Strengthen The Ummah Through Charity

Next, we learnt a lot and continue to learn more about Prophet Muhammad ? during Ramadan. Generally, one of the most popular?healthy habits?Muslims collectively attempt to?emulate is the Prophet's diet. And, rightly so as there are immense benefits when implemented right.

Yet, there is another facet to Islam that is worthy of continued practice beyond the days of Ramadan and that is?keeping the spirit of charity alive?for the rest of the year. All the attention on?zakat during Ramadan?should naturally develop a strong sense of responsibility to the persistent uplifting and betterment of those in need.

??? ????????? ????????????? ?????????? ???? ? ????? ?????????? ???????????? ???????????? ?????? ?????? ??????? ? ??????????? ?????? ???? ??????????????? ? ????????? ????? ??????????? ???????

If you disclose your charitable expenditures, they are good; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, it is better for you, and He will remove from you some of your misdeeds [thereby]. And Allāh, of what you do, is [fully] Aware.

[Surah Al-Baqarah 2:271]

Grounding Growth With Gratitude For Blessings

Finally, continue to indulge in self-reflection and expressing gratitude to Allah for all His manifold blessings. Taking the time to reflect on what has been achieved during Ramadan allows space for appreciation of the many triumphs, big and small, and at the same time identifying gaps and weaknesses.

It is not about chastising oneself and others for any shortcomings, real or perceived. Instead, it is about?learning how to cope with certain failures?and then seeking opportunities to plug those gaps. As human beings, allowing room to make mistakes and face the consequences helps in our growth and maturity trajectories by being able to accept our flaws and shortcomings before moving forward.

Continuing to nurture positive habits that have been sincerely started and cultivated during Ramadan definitely helps to better prepare for next year. InshAllah.

More importantly, consistent nurturing of positive post-Ramadan habits would compound over time to create seismic shifts not only for yourself, but also potentially positively influencing others around you. It helps to anchor our everyday identity as a Muslim through daily implementations that might not be a big leap in terms of quantifying one's religious piety, yet any small step paves the way to a closer connection with Islam and ultimately our relationship with Allah.
