Another case victory, another chance to send this firm message: DON'T F WITH MOMS.?
The mom in this situation? A?hard-working?mama who was fired during the pandemic after reporting discrimination. In case you did not know, reporting discrimination at work is?protected, and you may not be terminated, harassed, or retaliated against for bringing discrimination to your manager or HR department.
Her case had an element that I see all too often as an employment attorney: she was subjected to?biased stereotypes?about mothers, and was treated differently than a father who was in a similar position to her at work.
The company she worked for put up so many roadblocks along the way, but we weren't deterred. We took all of the depositions. We subpoenaed records and defeated many of their motions, including a motion for summary judgement, which is a motion where the company tries to get the case tossed.
