5/29/20: Paris Jour Et Nuit #14.

Up Close & Personal With:

The Pont Alexandre III, The Eiffel Tower,

Jardins du Trocadéro & Rue Montorgueil.

The Alpinistes window washers were back this morning and this time, I was fully prepared and fully dressed! So their Friday morning at work was not nearly as exciting as their Thursday morning at work was…

Ladies and gentlemen, not that I have ever cared about losing weight nor counting calories as I believe in living life to the fullest every single day that we are alive in this beautiful world for the limited amount of years that we are each given… with that said, I have lost a couple pounds since arriving in France… (Obviously without trying)! I am now convinced that eating four chocolate eclairs for breakfast, accompanied by extreme amounts of whole dairy milk, cream and butter seems to be the key to my happiness and to my vitality!

France will be reopening all the restaurants and cafés on June 2, until then, we are perfectly happy “cooking and baking” at home compliments of Picard…

Today we walked the Pont Alexandre III, an arch bridge that spans the Seine and connects the

Champs-élysées quarter with those of the Invalides and the Eiffel Tower. This bridge is widely regarded as the most ornate, extravagant bridge in the city. It has been classified as a French monument historique since 1975.

We went to have a tutti frutti (in Italian all the fruits, giant lollipop like I used to with my grandparents) next to the 133-year old Eiffel Tower and walked beside the Trocadéro.

Les Jardins du Trocadéro is an open space in Paris, located in the 16th arrondissement.

Then we went to discover Rue Montorgueil (merci Francine Cacheaux for the recommendation) which is a very charming street in the 1st arrondissement and 2nd arrondissement lined with restaurants, cafés, bakeries, fish stores, cheese shops, wine shops, produce stands and flower shops.

From The Louvres, to the Sacre Couer, Montmartre, the Seine River, The Cathedral of Notre Dame, The Pont Alexandre III, The Eiffel Tower, to les Jardins du Trocadéro…having these famous sites to ourselves these last two weeks… has indeed been a very up close and very personal, emotional experience.

Good Night.
