This year we represent 50 years of Hip Hop. The official year was 1973 in the Bronx NY when the world witnessed the sounds of the African diaspora. Everyone thought this was a fad that would die out. Nobody knew it would live on forever with every generation reinventing a new sound of Hip Hop.

Hip hop is an art form of the African diaspora & serves as a representation of modern-day stoicism in action. Stoicism is being completely you in every situation without faltering in the face of adversity & doubt.

???? Through Hip Hop, we find ourselves speaking our minds in a simple way.? Our spirit grows everyday when you realize that you are in control of your mind & your heart. These are two of the greatest tools ever created by God. The heart is the life force that represents what is right vs. what is wrong. It serves as a signal to the dangers of our world. Your heart is blessed by God. Keep your heart pure by making the right decisions and doing the right thing. Even if the world tells you different, you have to know what feels right to your very core. It will always make sense in the long run.

What is right vs. what is wrong? Only you can determine that.

???? The mind is a tool that formulates what we will say, think, do, & how we move. No other force is in control over our souls but the G.U.N. (God, Universe, & Nature) is at the root of stoicism. Knowing who is the divine power grants the soul peace. Stoicism is self reflection in action.

???? How can we move forward in life, if we don’t understand that mistakes are life’s way of teaching us how to be better. The external should have no effect on the internal. The truth is; there will always be external forces at play. How we handle them is up to us. It is never External vs. internal, but it is always the External & Internal force working at once. We are the masters of our energy force. The more diluted, the purer it becomes. The purer, the harder it becomes to break down.

?????? I decided to write this book in honor of the struggles that we all go through in life whether we acknowledge them or not.

???? "Notes of a Hip Hop Stoic" clearly states the growth of a genre that was once considered a fad. I wrote this in honor of Hip Hop and how it has shaped our world for the better. It is a culture in itself.

???? Hip hop has grown into a world-wide genre. Stoicism is grounded in this teaching of letting go of the pressures of the world and being in full control of one’s actions despite the circumstances that we may be faced with.

???? Hip Hop is freedom. Hip hop is real. Hip Hop is liberty. Hip Hop is radical self-expression. Hip hop is the genuine art of being you in the midst of so much artificiality.

???? It is self-love, self-empowerment, and knowledge of self.

???? The art of hip hop has been around since the 70s and will continue to influence generations to come. How did Hip Hop become such a powerful genre? Where did it start?

???? Hip Hop is life. Hip Hop is love. Hip hop is empowering. Hip hop is the expression of knowledge of self. Hip Hop is the purest sense of what it means to be a “child of the sun.”
