50 Excuses Not To Use Social Selling!
As social media, social selling, social recruitment trainers and consultants, we frequently hear a lot of excuses why people are not using social media to complement their traditional methods.
When it comes to social selling the EXCUSES are really fun to hear. So I decided to crowdsource most of the excuses we get from people on why they are not investing time on LinkedIn, Facebook, or other social media for #socialselling.
Here are the 50 most common heard excuses mentioned by salespeople.:
1. I have no time
2. I am working on other things
3. I have enough prospects and appointments
4. My customers are not on social media
5. My customers are not active on social media
6. I have no idea what to share or talk about
7. I have no content to share
8. My competition will see it
9. Our industry is different and does not work like that
10. I tried and it didn’t work
11. It is too complicated
12. My manager isn’t doing it why should I
13. I don’t want to mix my private life with my professional life
14. I am too old for this sh*t
15. My boss does not want me to waste time on this social media stuff
16. My boss does not trust social media
17. Cold calling gives me more results
18. It takes too long to bring anything to the table
19. I get no results
20. LinkedIn is my resume
21. LinkedIn is for jobs
22. If I post, people will think I look for a job
23. Facebook is my private life
24. It is a waste of time in my country or industry
25. Are people really looking at my profiles?
26. People in my country/industry/function are shy and very conservative
27. Everything I post has to be approved by marketing and they have no time to do this

3 年Mic Adam, What a clever approach? You give folks 50 reasons NOT to do something for what purpose? For them to see that pursuing it really does have value. It reminds of the guy at the beach who draws a line in the sand and leaves a message in the sand next to it - "Do not cross this line." What does the guy REALLY want? He wants you to do the opposite - cross the line.
