5 years of thinking simplr
It’s been 5 years since Raman and I have been running Think Simplr. A few weeks back we tried to find patterns in what made us sail through so far. We sat down and tried going through some of our old work and new. Starting from the time when just the name (think simplr) we had finalised, nothing more. Somehow the name itself acted as a compass of some sorts. At the very least we knew what not to do.?
The list of don’t were like - Don’t use jargons. Don’t complicate. Don’t use difficult words. Don’t confuse. Don’t be repetitive. Don’t do this and eventually don’t do that.?
While the ‘don’t’ was defined ‘do’ wasn’t so defined and we would go on experimenting with??all sorts of things. The strategy guy making layouts. The creative guy writing decks. The studio man handling accounts. We didn’t have any ‘don’t’ for such a thing. As long as we kept things simple we would do whatever worked well for the client and for the team. We were good as along as the client’s business grew and our team was proud to create the same. A team where there been people driven to achieve the best in the middle of all the madness. A team where trainees behaved like creative heads. And consultants who simply got consumed in the daily grind.

There on we kept wandering and meandering around briefs, ideas, books, processes and point of views.?
But after around 1825 days of trial and error here we are. We have a bunch of clients who did stick with us for those many days. And some who parted ways on a happy note. And yet some made the parting bitter. If someone asks me about profit and loss, I guess we have more happy clients than sad. And each one of them taught us something or the other. I won’t say there was a single one who didn’t make a difference, we are a sucker for learning and they taught us.?
And in return we kept Thinking?Simplr.
