5 Ways To Be Visible Consistently (even if you don't have time)

Have you spent days, weeks and months defining your ideal client, building a lead magnet that is the bomb considering all the value it offers and growing your email list name by name by name, but aren’t getting the RO(y)E (return on your effort)?
Nurturing your audience so they get to know, like, trust and buy from you takes time.
A loooooot of time.
Or at least that’s what it feels like
Creating and sharing valuable content, doing live videos and being visible consistently can be a full-time job (that’s what ‘influencers’ do, right?), so how are you going to fit this into your already insanely busy schedule?
It actually doesn’t matter how much or how little time you have, you can still be visible. Just like about 80% of everything we do in business is about mindset and 20% is about taking action (often, before we’re feeling ready).
Below, I’m sharing 5 things you can do immediately to show up more consistently to establish yourself as the thought leader and expert that you are.
Batch like you mean it
Let’s get practical for a moment: Task batching is not a new concept and should be top of your list of ways to get sh*t done!?
It takes us on average a good 23 minutes (I didn’t even make this up) to get our head into the right place to focus on a specific task. 23 MINUTES! So by batching similar tasks together, you can save 23 minutes per task that you throw into the mix.?
For example, if you need to write and schedule your social media posts, a blog post for the week and your newsletter, then it helps to create and write the content first and in one go (while you’re in the flow), before scheduling it all.
Repurpose
Repurposing is my favourite r-word after ‘relaxation’ - probably because it has a similar effect.?
I’ll be honest and say that I had a major block around this because I was worried that my audience would think I’m lazy and outta ideas. BUT that’s not true because they don’t actually know that I am repurposing!?
There are two ways that you can repurpose:?
(1) create one piece of pillar content, such as a blog post, a podcast episode or a video, and then pull out several social media posts, a newsletter and other content you use in your business.?
领英推荐
Or (2) you can repost and reshare content you shared a few months ago and that was a hit and got good engagement.?
And no, your followers scroll past and consume so much content every day, they won’t realise that they may have already seen this on 28 November 2020.
Invite guests
This is my personal favourite way to create content because it’s an all-timer! This works whether you’re in a creative slump, stressed out in your day job or full of inspiration.?
No matter the time of day, it’s ALWAYS easier to share valuable information and helpful guidance, when it’s part of a conversation and isn’t created at 9:38 pm in between doing the dishes and hanging the laundry out that’s been in the washing machine for three days because you forgot.
Make it quite an informal chat and, if this makes you feel more confident, prepare 3-4 questions (which you can pop in the notes app on your phone while queuing at the supermarket check out).
Own your story
This may be an obvious one or it may get you thinking.?
So often we don’t trust ourselves, our experience and talent (hey there, limiting beliefs), so we feel we have to learn and then learn some more before we can give advice on something. Research and learning can take a lot of time.?
This then also leads to procrastination which means we’re not consistent, we’re building something up in our head to be bigger than it actually is and before we know it we don’t show up at all.?
You are the expert in your field and you can add YOUR spin on things. That’s what your audience is following YOU for.
Don’t overthink it
No, you don’t have to create a framework where each pillar starts with the same letter or spend all afternoon to find *that* perfect stock photo to go with your post (don’t tell me I’m the only one…) or get your hair cut before ‘showing up’!
Just as mentioned above, you want to show up as authentically as possible because everything else would get too exhausting and is not sustainable. By the way, I’m saying as authentically as possible, because I also get that sometimes we want to put on that red lipstick or the leopard print heels because they make us feel more professional and badass.
Also, not every piece of content needs to be life-changing. Sometimes, just sharing a funny story or something you’re struggling with is ok and can actually make you more relatable.?
