Ohio senator should be exposed as a raging hypocrite on multiple?fronts...
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz should have a straightforward strategy for the vice-presidential debate Tuesday night:
Attack, attack, attack!
It’s a truism in political campaigns that if you’re not on offense, you’re on defense. And being on defense detracts from a candidate effectively getting their message out to voters.
That’s why Walz should stay on the offensive and expose Vance on a host of issues for which the freshman Ohio senator has made unforced errors, offensive remarks and hypocritical statements.?
1) Inexperience
Vance’s experience in public office is minimal. He served a few years in the Senate as a newbie, whereas Walz has served as Minnesota governor for 7 years and a member of Congress for 12 years before that.
Considering this disparity, one has to ask if Vance has enough government experience to serve as President of the Unites States? Let’s recall that due to his advanced age, it’s possible Trump may not complete a second term in office?—?assuming he first wins the election.
If Vance ever did have to assume the Office of President, he would be among the youngest and most inexperienced ever to serve.
Walz should use this inconvenient truth as a line of attack against Vance during the debate.
Just ask who you envision as more presidential?—?should that duty call?—?JD Vance or Tim?Walz?
2) Demeaning Women
Vance has proven to be his own enemy regarding his highly offensive comments demeaning “childless cat ladies”?—?a stupid political move.
He certainly did himself no favors by pissing off Taylor Swift and her hundreds of millions of fans and followers on social media.?
Add that to Vance’s support for what Kamala Harris calls the “Trump Abortion Ban” and it’s astounding that any woman would want to vote for a presidential ticket with Vance on it.?
Walz needs to pounce on Vance’s degradation of women.
Vance’s radical right-wing policy positions on women’s issues should make him anathema to this critically important voting?bloc.?
3) Military?Service
Vance will likely castigate Walz over questions surrounding his military service in the National Guard. But Walz should be judged on the totality of his military service, rather than on just a few isolated accusations.
Walz served in the military for 24-years, compared to two years for Vance.
We will hear nothing from Vance about former president Trump’s alleged draft dodging during the Vietnam War?—?not to mention the host of derogatory and malicious comments Trump has leveled at the military for many years, such as calling soldiers “suckers” and “losers” if they were killed or captured during combat.
Then there’s the question of whether one veteran should ever attack the service of another one?

How can Vance continue to attack Walz over his record of service, while remaining silent about Trump’s defaming of military?service?
4) Haitian Immigrants
Vance has shown himself to be a puppet politician of Trump. Vance has reportedly admitted that he lied about the outrageous allegations that people in the legal Haitian migrant community in Springfield, Ohio, were eating the pets of their neighbors.
Nevertheless, Trump and Vance have doubled down by repeating this false accusation.
Walz should also press Vance about how Trump’s proposed mass deportation program would work. For example, will jackbooted thugs be breaking down the doors of immigrants and hauling them away from their families and friends??
Will immigrant children be ripped from their mothers’ arms and separated for indefinite time periods? Will immigrant kids be kept in cages at detention centers?
Walz should attack the Trump-Vance campaign of divisive rhetoric and fearmongering toward the immigrant community, which is unpatriotic and un-American.
5) Personal?Story
Vance has an intriguing personal story, as outlined in his bestselling book Hillbilly Elegy.?
Yet prior to winning his Senate seat, Vance reportedly made millions of dollars working for venture capital firms in Silicon Valley.?
Walz should attack Vance for contradicting his own personal story of growing up dirt poor in Appalachia and forgetting the people of that community once he became super rich.
Can Vance still relate to the plight of middle-class Americans in blue collar jobs, not to mention the lowest income citizens who rely on government assistance to make ends meet??
Vance’s roots in rural America are in stark contrast to his recent life making millions at Silicon Valley venture capital firms before running for the?Senate.?
Final Thoughts
Vice presidential debates are known to be inconsequential politically.?
Even if one side lands a knockout blow to win the debate, the same side can still lose the election, as past presidential campaigns have shown.
Still, voters should ask themselves who they could envision stepping into the Oval Office if the president is unable to complete her/his term: JD Vance or Tim Walz??
The answer should be clear. But whether it really matters in the election outcome is a different story.
