Ways Technology Makes A Mockery Of Your Productivity.
Introduction
Do you ever feel like you’re wasting your time and energy? If so, technology could be the culprit!
While technology can be incredibly helpful, too much screen time can lead to burnout and your ability to concentrate on the work that matters most.
Luckily, there are many ways you can use your gadgets more effectively to spend less time online and more time at work or in your personal life.
This is especially important if your work revolves around being online....think about online classes!

Technological Gadgets
The number one productivity killer is your smartphone, followed by your computer.
The third is the proliferation of open tabs and windows on your computer, and pinging apps you keep open. And lastly (and obviously) there's the time spent looking at Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok or Facebook.
If you're trying to get things done without having to check social media every few minutes, consider setting up an app like Focus@Will or Freedom which will block these sites until you need them again—alternatively, turn on airplane mode so that nothing gets through at all!
Technology Triggers Distraction
You're reading this article on your smartphone. There's no doubt that smartphones are a necessity, but there are many other ways they can wreak havoc on your productivity.

A trigger for procrastination and time-wasting:
The internet has become an ever increasing important part of our lives, but it's also something you should be careful about how and when you use it both at work and at home.
Many people use social media apps like Snapchat or Instagram to communicate with friends while they're doing other things like working out or going grocery shopping.
This can easily lead you down the path where you spend more time looking at photos than actually handling your responsibilities!
If possible, try setting limits on when/how often these apps will run so that they don't take over every aspect of your life; otherwise just try avoiding them altogether until your free time.
Keeping Open Tabs & Windows On Your Desktop
Open tabs and windows on your desktop can look harmless, but if you're mindless of how much time you take to shuffle through the multiple tabs and windows, you might find yourself wasting valuable time doing this every day.
Besides using apps like Google Chrome or Firefox for browsing the internet (which are both excellent), there are also plenty of apps that allow users to open multiple browser instances at once—so instead of having one instance open, they'll have up to ten different ones open at once!
In the hind-site, open tabs save time by reducing switching between multiple tabs; but also because with more than one browser running at once, there's less risk of accidentally closing something down before saving changes (which could lead to losing data).

Social Media Distraction
Open tabs and windows are the most common way to use technology to wreck your productivity.
When I'm at work, I have several browser windows simultaneously open with different web pages in each of them.
If you're like me and have several tabs open on your browser (or even two or three), this can be a terrible thing if you want to stay focused on what's happening in front of you!
And if one of those sites has a video playing in the background that distracts me from my work, then all the better - the more distractions there are around me, the less likely it is that I'll get anything done today!

We're constantly connected through our phones and computers these days; we should use this technology as much as possible for our business purposes, but if you find yourself watching cat videos and mindlessly scrolling through Facebook photos, you’re not only wasting time, you’re also exhausting your mind.
Open Gap In Facebook & Twitter For Business
Facebook and Twitter are great for connecting with friends and family. You can promote your business, products, and services.
Using these social media platforms in the right way will help you grow your brand by interacting with like-minded individuals who share similar interests as you do.
If you're looking for an effective way to drive traffic back to your website, then use Facebook ads or Twitter retweets!
“The more you use technology, the more you're likely to waste your time and energy"
Once you've decided to use technology, it's important to remember that this is a tool. You can use it for good or for bad—and there are no rules about the way it will go.
The trick is knowing how to use technology in your favour.

In Conclusion
The more you use technology, the more you'll find yourself wasting your time and energy. With so many working options available today, it is easy to get distracted by our digital devices and forget that there are other important things in life—like sleep!
As we mentioned earlier, this is a challenge that can be fixed by setting aside some time every day for rest, which will help keep your brain healthy and give you more energy throughout the day.
If this sounds difficult or unfeasible (maybe because it would take away from the family time), consider finding another way of managing yourself while being productive at work instead, like creating a flowchart or planning out tasks before starting them on paper instead of relying solely on technology.
Okay, that's all for today. Please share your thoughts about ways to save yourself from the havoc of technology and how best to get the best of them.

Helping High-Achievers Crush Distractions & Get More Done—Without Burnout
2 年This is interesting, as I released an episode of The Mister Productivity Podcast on this topic today. I believe technology can be both a blessing and a curse, and WE get to choose. So many blame technology for their lower productivity levels, but is it technology's fault, or is it from a lack of discipline? I blame discipline more. I am in control of my technology. Technology doesn't control. me.
