Another Friday Fast 5 coming your way.?
How many things do you do on an average day? OR things you have to remember, like? sending that email, paying that invoice, what to cook for dinner, is there even food in the fridge? How are you going to keep the mini humans entertained, was the last week of soccer this week or next week??
- Write it down! Whether it’s creating lists or using a diary, writing things down that you need to remember significantly reduces your mental load.?
- Allocate tasks. Whether it’s to your team, your kids or your partner, you don’t have to be in charge of everything. Many of my clients use whiteboards or charts to help allocate tasks both in the office and at home to make sure everyone is carrying the appropriate mental load. The best part is white boards are reusable so less waste!??
- Automate. This has been a lifesaver for me! I try to automate as much in my life as possible, from quarterly skincare drop offs, to weekly food drop offs, there is so much you can automate. Even just setting up out of office replies between certain hours can help reduce the stress of trying to get back to everyone immediately. What can you automate in your life?
- Outsource. If you are running a business and still checking your own emails… I can guarantee there are better things you could be doing with your time. Hire a VA to take care of all the small tasks that take up brain space and your time. If you are finding your schedule is too full then maybe it’s also time to think about hiring a new person to your business that can take some of those things off your plate!??
- Make time for white space. Schedule in time to think about nothing. It sounds silly but this white space is usually your most productive and creative because it allows you to put down the mental load and just exist.?
These are also great tips to pass onto your team to help them lessen their cognitive load and improve their flow and productivity!
Keep an eye out for another fast 5 next week!
