5 ways to protect your mental health part 1 ??

Would you like to protect your mental health? What factors can work with you or against you?

This week, I will share some of them. Like past week, these posts will be in English, OKAY? ??


I will start to talk about THE MOUTH ?? I don′t have any doubt that much of our mental health comes from not only what we put in our mouths, but indeed, their status.

Myself, I dealt with a weird condition that almost made me crazy ?? and it was until I understand all the factors related that I could be able to manage it ?? This took me a decade, but finally I did it. More of my personal journey in my next book, which is coming soon ??


So, oral and mental heath could seem highly related, but

What challenges you can face? ??


  • Chronic infections. When you have a chronic infection ?? in your mouth, chances to develop mental health problems are real. Think about chronic infection and how our body respond to. As you can imagine, it will respond with inflammation that would affect your brain and/or a systemic condition. Due to the proximity between our mouths and brains, the possibilities are HIGHER


And where the infections coming from? One of the most common sources is from root canals treatments. No matter what you have been told ?? there is no way as I learned, to keep your teeth sterile or "clean". If you haven′t seen the documentary on Netflix, because it was removed, I highly encourage you to see it on Youtube


  • Silver fillings or amalgams. As root canal treatments you probably have been told they are safe ???? but actually THEY ARE NOT. More than 50 percent of their composition is MERCURY, which is one of the most damaging elements for human health. It has been recognized as neurotoxic ?? and even WHO and FDA have warning to their effects for children and pregnant women. But if they are not safe for them, why could be safe for the rest of us?

  • Fluoride. All of us were told was necessary to keep our teeth healthy and prevent cavities even should be administered in children as a protective measure. Guess what? Fluoride is not only unnecessary but harmful. Several studies have shown their effects on IQ REDUCTION UP TO 11 POINTS. If someone tells you "ay, pero es un poquito" ??


Well, you might be interested to learn more about a concept called Bio-accumulation which I recently learned.


There are some others challenges such as another materials used in dentristry ??, toxic ingredientes in your toothpaste ?? or even you mouthwash ?? that recently we learned alters the oral microbiome and then, inhibits the production of nitric oxide, which are essential for blood pressure and overall health.


But what you can do in order to protect both? ??


  1. Don't dismiss the role that oral health have for your mental and overall health. As I learned in the last decade, oral health is VERY IMPORTANT
  2. Take care of your oral health. Look for a good practitioner who knows all the risks and challenges Dentistry have
  3. If you don′t feel comfortable with the techniques and/or procedures your dentist is using, ask for alternatives or CHANGE TO ANOTHER DOCTOR. As an additional tip look for Biological Dentistry practitioner in your area
  4. In your daily routine, use non toxic products. Be curious and read labels
  5. If you start noticing some changes, such as pain, bleeding gums, some noise in your TMJ, or any other, TAKE ACTION


Your mouth is not only your teeth, but also your gums, your jaw, your palate, your tongue and other structures
