It’s a new year, which means the possibilities for your business are endless. With so much potential, now is the time for you to set your roadmap for the year ahead.
We often set personal resolutions related to things like eating healthy, reading more, and being more present. Business resolutions shouldn’t be any different. Every year you should be setting business resolutions related to things like increasing your revenue, finally launching a new product, and expanding your marketing reach. The problem is though, that resolutions often get a bad rap, and that’s why many of us don’t stay on track to achieve them. You hear stories about how resolutions are a waste of time and how person after person never actually completes their goals for the new year. But just like with anything else, there are steps you can take to ensure 2022 is the year you finally achieve your business goals. And how you do that is by organizing your business.
Before we share the ways that you can organize your business, first, let’s look at why you should be focused on doing this.?
????♂? Your stress will reduce.
When you feel scattered with your work, your stress level naturally increases. Putting a focus on organizing your work will lower your cortisol levels, keeping your stress at bay.
?? Your sleep will improve.
As you organize your business, you’ll begin scheduling your workday. As a result, you’ll stay on task throughout the day without as much distraction. That way when you are home you can prioritize sleep, instead of letting your mind focus on what you haven’t accomplished throughout the day.
???? You’ll see an increase in productivity at work.
Once you start to organize your workday, you’ll find you are less burnt out and overwhelmed throughout the workday. Without the clutter, you’ll be able to approach work with a clear head to spark creativity.
?? You’ll find an improvement in your relationships.?
When you are working or are a part of an unorganized environment, it is hard to focus on your relationships. Instead, you are fixated on the lack of organization. When you take the steps to add organization to your life, you can improve your relationships inside and outside of the workplace.
As you begin to tackle workplace organization, try to avoid jumping in headfirst. Taking a big leap may sound good, but it can result in burnout, frustration, and failure. Change takes time and won’t happen overnight.
Instead, take these three steps as you tackle each part of your organization plan.?
? Create bite-sized tasks?
It’s hard to not think of your goals in their entirety but try to focus on the simple components that make up the goal. Celebrating each small win will keep pushing you forward.
????♀? Outsource help
One of the hardest things as a business owner is knowing when to ask for help. Entrepreneurs have so many talents, but entrepreneurs cannot do it all. If you don’t outsource help, you may stall your business and keep yourself from reaching your goals.
???? ???? Have an accountability buddy
When we work out, we like to have someone close by to keep us on track. The same should be true for your business. Have a partner that can check in with you and break down your goals into actionable and attainable steps.
Now that you know why you should organize your business and the steps you should take, let’s look at how you can get started.

Rather than listing all the ways for you to get started, start small with one or two of the five ways listed below and then add more to your routine.
?? Dust off your business plan
You probably haven’t taken out your business plan in years now that you have a fully operating business but dig it out and give it a read. Then compare it to what you have planned for this year. Ask yourself what are your current goals? How will you measure your progress on those goals? Do you understand your client’s journey? And ask yourself, how will you continue your education? Taking the time to answer these questions will refocus you.
?????? Tidy up your website
As workdays fill up, projects like finally updating your about page often fall to the sidelines. Your website, though, is what drives traffic and business. Look at your website and ask yourself if your website reflects your current offerings and if your messaging is up to date. If not, you’ll want to tackle this to bring organization to your company.?
?? Freshen Up Your Marketing Automations
A great and simple way to get your business organized this month is to take a close look at your marketing automation. There are some questions you may want to ask yourself to help guide you through this process. First, do you need to set up or make any changes to your marketing automation plan? Next, look through your links and make sure there are no dead links. Consider opportunities for cross-selling and add-on tactics. Taking a look through your marketing automation and making the necessary changes can help you feel more organized and efficient.
?? Deep Clean Your Tech Stack
A tech stack is a combination of all of the technologies your company uses. Another way to get organized is to consider your business's technology. Consider the relationship you have with tech partners and how the relationship is going. Ask yourself if there is anything you feel is not currently working and think about the benefits this relationship is providing. This might also be a good time to ask if there is any room for negotiation of your rates.
?? Organize Your Pricing
Every business should strategically analyze their pricing periodically. Evaluate the current pricing options your company offers and think about any possible changes that may need to be made. Is your pricing clear, concise, and easy to understand for your customers? While doing this, it is also a good time to look through your website and ensure all of your pricing options are clearly linked or defined. You may consider creating an intro level pricing to catch the attention of those looking to spend less.
