5 Ways to Make Money on LinkedIn in 2025

If you still think of LinkedIn as just a place to post your résumé, it’s time for a reality check! In 2025, LinkedIn has transformed into a goldmine for freelancers like us, allowing you to showcase your skills, connect with potential clients, and make money while doing it. I’ve tested these strategies with my own LinkedIn audience of over 22K, and I’m excited to share my proven tactics with you! Let’s get started!

1. Sell Your Services

The quickest way to start earning on LinkedIn is by selling your services.

Identify Your Niche:

  • Freelance Writing: Whether it’s blog posts, social media content, or copywriting, businesses are always looking for talented writers.
  • Graphic Design: Offer logo creation, social media graphics, or branding services to local businesses that need a fresh look.
  • SEO Consulting: Help businesses improve their online visibility and attract more customers.
  • Virtual Assistance: Many entrepreneurs need help with admin tasks, scheduling, or social media management.

How to Get Started:

  • Define Your Ideal Client: Are they small business owners, startups, or corporate teams? Get specific!
  • Create Problem-Solving Content: Share valuable posts that address common pain points in your niche. For instance, if you're a graphic designer, post tips on how to create eye-catching social media visuals.
  • Engage Regularly: Consistency is key! Aim to post at least 2-3 times a week. The more you post, the more you’ll engage with the LinkedIn algorithm, increasing your visibility.

Example: If you’re a freelance writer, share a post titled “3 Tips for Crafting Compelling Blog Headlines.” This will showcase your expertise and attract potential clients.

2. Sell Your Own Products

If you have knowledge to share, consider creating and selling digital products.

Ideas for Products:

  • Online Courses: Share your expertise in areas like content marketing, graphic design, or digital marketing strategies tailored for local businesses.
  • E-books: Write an e-book on freelancing tips specifically for Filipinos—covering everything from tax tips to finding clients.
  • Templates: Create templates for proposals, social media calendars, or invoices that can help fellow freelancers streamline their work.

Setting It Up:

  • Use platforms like Gumroad or ConvertKit to sell your products easily. You can also set up a simple landing page with Cardd or through your own website.
  • Promote Strategically: Mention your products in your LinkedIn posts, and provide a link in the comments. This keeps your post visible and engages your audience.

Example: If you create a course on “How to Find Your First Freelance Client,” share snippets of the content in your posts to generate interest and drive sign-ups.

3. Dive into Affiliate Marketing

Not ready to sell your own products? Affiliate marketing is a great way to earn by promoting others’ products.

Choose the Right Products:

  • Look for tools or resources that can genuinely benefit your audience. For example, if you’re a graphic designer, consider promoting design software or educational resources.
  • Only Promote What You Use: Authenticity matters! Only recommend products you’ve tried and love.

How to Promote:

  • Join affiliate programs through platforms like Amazon, ClickBank, or specific brands in your niche.
  • When creating posts, drop the affiliate link in the comments, positioning it as a solution to a problem.

Example: Create a post about the “Best Tools for Freelancers in the PH” and include your affiliate links for software that you recommend.

4. Create Sponsored Posts

Once you build a solid audience, you can start monetizing your content through sponsored posts.

Getting Started with Sponsored Content:

  • Connect with Brands: Reach out to companies whose products you genuinely use and love. As a freelancer, partnerships with local brands or startups can be particularly beneficial.
  • Incorporate Naturally: When you write posts, mention these products in a way that solves a problem for your audience.

Example: If you’re sponsored by a local project management tool, create a post about “How to Stay Organized as a Freelancer,” and naturally include your experience using that tool.

Tip: Avoid overloading your feed with sponsored content to maintain authenticity and keep your audience engaged.

5. Build an Email List

While building an email list is a long-term strategy, it’s essential for freelancers looking to grow their businesses.

Why Email Lists Matter:

  • Control Your Audience: Unlike LinkedIn, you own your email list, meaning you won’t be at the mercy of algorithms.
  • Trust and Value: If someone gives you their email, it means they value your insights and content.

How to Drive Email Sign-Ups:

  • Use LinkedIn to share engaging posts that encourage followers to join your email list. Offer a freebie like a guide on “10 Essential Tools for Filipino Freelancers” in exchange for their email.
  • Engage Your List: Send regular updates with valuable content and include promotional emails for your services or products.

Example: After someone signs up, send them a welcome email with a mix of useful tips and insights into your freelance journey to establish trust.

There you have it! Five actionable strategies to make money on LinkedIn as a freelancer in the Philippines. The first step is to start building your audience, so get out there and share your story!

Stop seeing LinkedIn as just a job-hunting site. It’s a dynamic platform where you can thrive and create your freelance dream life!
