Super Monday to you!
In my last article, we learnt how the skills learnt in project management can change your life and shift your career. Project management skills can be the leverage you need, whether you want to upscale your skills for workplace success, start a new business or switch to a career in Project Management.
In today's series, we'll jump straight on 5 ways to learn project management without paying a dime!
Stay with me!
1. Self learn
This is one of the most beautiful ways to learn project management. I love and recommend this pathway for anyone who does not want to pursue project management as a career but wants to learn the skills. I use this method to advance the knowledge I get from Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). This is how it works:
2. Free EdX Project management course
EdX is a global non-profit and online learning platform founded by Harvard University and MIT. With edX, you can take free online project management courses to get the skills you need to advance your career. You can learn the fundamentals of project management and the software tools used at your own pace with edX's wide range of online classes and training courses.
You can audit almost any course on edX for free; you will however need to pay a fee to access exams or complete a verified certificate. For many courses, this fee is between $50 and $100. Other courses may cost more, depending on the institution.
Since we are only interested in the skill here, we can leave the certification till it becomes necessary.
3. Oxford Home Study Centre
Oxford Home Study Centre is a UK-Based offers a free Project Management Short Course that opens you up to the basics of project management. Their course takes approximately 20 hours to complete all online. You can take the courses at your own pace, and it covers project management fundamentals, the role of a project manager, and the life cycle of a project. At the end of the course, you will reive a certificate from the OHSC.

4. Coursera Financial Aids
Coursera is a Project Management Institute (PMI) Education Provider, and the Fundamentals course has weekly assignments for students to complete. Most Coursera classes offer free access to course materials and lessons, though you'll need to pay to have assignments graded by the instructors and receive a certification at the end.
Coursera offers financial aid for learners who could benefit from our paid products but cannot afford to pay the associated fee. Learners accepted into the program are granted a fee waiver that allows them to access all of the course content and complete all work required to earn a Certificate. To receive Coursera Financial Aid, learners must complete a brief application describing their financial circumstances and motivations for taking the course.
