5 Ways to Hack Facebook Algorithm

The emergence of “The Facebook” or Facebook app is we know of today has changed our ways of life and turned our tables upside down. Facebook started out in the Harvard University founded by the Psychology student at that time, Mark Zuckerberg who had developed other social networking websites for his fellow students such as Coursematch and Facemash. When he launched Facebook in 2004, its growth instantly became massive, earning a sign up of 1,200 students from Harvard in just 24 hours, and instantly reached over half of the undergraduate population in just one month.

Facebook promptly expanded to other universities and became Facebook.com in the year 2005. After a year, it has extended beyond academic institutions and has been available to anyone who has a registered email address. Fast forward to 16 years later, in our year of 2021. Facebook has indeed massively grown, reaching over 2.80 billion monthly active users, hitting its one billion mark in 2012 and two billion five years later.?

Ever since its emergence, its functions and features too have developed, and using this app has become part of our routines for several years already. We have been growing dependent to the use of Facebook to the point that it is the first thing that we greet in the morning and the last thing that we visit before we close our eyes at night. Of course, this would not be possible if there are no beneficial and essential features that Facebook introduce to us as it connects us to all people anywhere in the world, delivers us the latest information, entertains us, and most importantly, supports our business needs.?

Just as Facebook itself grows rapidly, its tools, features,? functions do too, and constituted with this is the algorithm that is undeniably changing at a fast pace. For businesses, they see facebook as profit-oriented, that’s why it is important for them to be knowledgeable with the underlying algorithms of this powerful tool. However, given that it is ever-evolving, most businesses do not recognize how the algorithm works. Building connections and establishing a community must be one of your top priorities because the algorithm favors posts from pages that your audience has interacted with before. This means that if you’ve had an interaction with a user, the algorithm would prioritize your posts on their newsfeed, boosting your visibility and reach.?

The key here is to take your reply game to the next level and do not waste the opportunity when someone engages or interacts with you. You have to make them feel that they are connected and that they belong to your community, and inspire them to engage more with you and with other users.?

Facebook is an app for engaging and connecting with other people, and for them to engage with you, you have to engage with them as well. So, go ahead and spend some minutes f your time clicking those react buttons on posts of your audience, commenting on them and even sharing them. But be careful not to spam! There is a difference between engaging and spamming, and not a lot of people understand these differences! Engaging is actually posting or responding with something that starts a conversation and causes interaction. By doing this, not only will the algorithm favor you, but you will also build a community with the people that you engage with.

When you share clickbait, you may drive traffic to your account, but you will lose your authenticity and professionalism, and your audience will not trust you at all. By doing this, you don’t provide value to your audience and you just cause disruptions on their feed, which is something that you don’t want.

Key Takeaway
