5 ways to gain trust of customer

Any organization would grow only when its customers are growing. Gaining trust of your customers will take you a long way. They can be your guide, mentor, and most importantly salesperson in growing your business.

When we are dealing with customers (organization or individual), we are dealing with humans. Human behavior is always in the forefront of any interaction. Trust is most important aspect of any relationship, whether personal or professional. So, how do we gain trust?

Understand the needs and work in their interest

The aim of your business is to address the customer’s needs. If you do not understand want the customer needs, then your product/services will not be useful to them. You may have to guide the customer about how your product/service is going to benefit them. If you work with aim to give the best value giving benefit to the customer, then the customer not only starts believing in you but is also a satisfied customer. You become guide to them in making decisions, which help them / their organization.

Honor your commitments

Promise only that you can deliver. If you are not sure about it, say so clearly. Over commitment and not delivering will lose your trust.

Be transparent

Any dealing with the customer should be done in a transparent manner. Every major decision that you make for customer, should be based on known criteria and supported by facts and figures. This shows that the decisions are unbiased. It helps to keep the customer involved.

Honesty is the best policy

Do you always agree with the customer, even though you know they are wrong? Being honest also means sometimes disagreeing with your customer. However, if you explain why you disagree and how it is in their interest, you can win their trust.

Be available at the time of crisis

How would you feel when someone who claims to work in your benefit, abandons you at the time of crisis? Even if you cannot help them directly, being with them through the time of crisis, will definitely go a long way.

Ultimately it is human to human interaction. Having a personal trusted bond with your customer, takes the relationship to a new level.

Trusted relationships last forever...
