5 Ways To FINALLY Get More Work Done...

5 Ways To FINALLY Get More Work Done...

For the past few months my ‘hustle’ has been off…

I haven’t been motivated.

I left my family to ‘work’ but found myself always scrolling through my Facebook news feed.

Honestly…

It felt terrible.

But the last two weeks I’ve been the most productive I’ve ever been in my life.

How?

Using these 5 tips I want to share with you in this quick article.

Hope they help ;)

1. I Channeled Into WHY.

I reminded myself of the reasons why I’m doing this.

To help others.

To make an impact.

To make my family proud.

When you understand the reasons ‘why’ you’re doing something, you’ll find a new found motivation.

Get to the root cause of why you want something and you’ll always have a strong reminder to keep going.

When you enjoy the process, when you love the ‘work’ it makes it easier to get motivated and stay productive every day. Even though sometimes we might need that reminder, channeling in to why we’re doing something…

Without a ‘why’, it’s very hard to keep productive for long periods of time.

2. I Hired An Assistant.

This one is more practical based than theory.

One of my biggest weaknesses is staying organised, so I hired an assistant to help me overcome it.

She’s there to keep me organised, take wasteful hours out of my day and keep me on track.

I remember when I first started taking ‘business’ seriously, back in 2009, I simply avoided spending money on staff due to the misconception that it would mean less money for me. I thought it was as simple as…

More outgoings on staff = Less money for me (and my fake lifestyle)

But getting people to help and hiring is far more effective than trying to do everything on your own. Free up your time to work on what you’re good at, to leverage more results.

Start small if you’ve never hired before, even an assistant to help with the day to day tasks you want to avoid starting with a few hours a week will be cost effective but will potentially help you with your productivity in the long term.

Remember, you can’t always rely on yourself to stay accountable. Get others to help.

3. I’ve ‘Switched Off’

I studied productivity book after productivity book, I tried this hack and that hack…

I spent a good few years trying to optimize the time I spent working.

But one thing that helped sky rocket my productivity was actually not working.

I know, it sounds crazy…

But being able to switch off, step away from the desk and ‘refresh’ is key to unlocking your true productivity.

I’m spending more time with my family.

I’m present when I’m with my kids.

When I’m struggling with motivation, a quick 15 minute walk will help with clarity.

We’ve got more distractions than ever before now, with our phones constantly next to us and numerous notifications interrupting our day. Don’t forget to switch off from time to time.

This switch off from work helps me from burning out.

4. I’m Theming My Days.

This might not work for you, but it’s something that’s benefitting me greatly.

Theming your days is all about knowing WHAT you’re doing on each day.

Something like this…

Monday — Pitch/Money making tasks

Tuesday — Creative day (videos, podcast)

Wednesday — A combination

Thursday — Day off, Daddy time.

Friday — Networking day + catch up

Instead of trying to do a range of tasks all in one day, spread them out across your work week.

5. I’m Focusing On Patience.

I’d love 1 million subscribers tomorrow.

I’d love an extra 000’s on my income.

I’d love more freedom and time with family.

But I’m in this for the long game, no quick results.

I want to continue making an impact on others and sharing my story 50 years from now.

There’s no need to set high expectations and rush. When we rush results, we get disheartened when we don’t attain them. We also cram our days with too much work because we want the results NOW.

Focus on patience, love the process and productivity becomes easier.

So if you find yourself scrolling through social media, unconscious to the fact that you’re not ‘working’…

Utilise the above.

It’s helping me right now.

I hope it helps you too.

Here’s a video too that goes into some more detail.
