With social media, it’s easy to stagnate. If you’re not continually tweaking and testing new strategies, you can find yourself losing followers, engagement and interest.
If that happens, don’t give up. We’ve got 5 ways that you can reinvigorate your social media agenda.
Tip 1: Connect with influencers
No matter which industry you’re in, there’s always someone in your field who is more established and more powerful.
Try and connect with these people and leverage their audience. Perhaps ask their opinion about an issue, something that’s important to your target audience. Then just create some content, tag them and wait for the traffic.
Tip 2: Start a debate
Social media isn’t a place to be salesy. Instead, talk about the common problems facing your customers… and their solutions.
Pose questions, particularly ones that are likely to generate interest. Don’t be afraid of being controversial.
Tip 3: Create something useful and valuable
There’s nothing quite as effective as content these days, so why not create a piece of amazing copy that tells your audience how to do something.
This will be of insane value and you can pin a post that talks about this content to your profile, so all your followers (both new and old) can see it.
Doing this can have other benefits too, such as SEO. Good pieces of content that are strategically promoted on social media can lead to shares and backlinks.
In turn, that means higher rankings, more traffic and increased leads.
Tip 4: Remember that you reap what you sow
Social media is not all take, take, take. You can’t expect other people to mention you and retweet your messages if you don’t do the same.
Obviously make sure that any content you republish makes commercial sense to do so, but if you get the chance, share other useful pieces of content.
Tip 5: Post up a video or two
Words are important, but today’s digital world is very image-driven. Many marketers are finding that videos are getting increasingly high engagement levels.
The great thing is, they’re incredibly easy to integrate on social media. It’s simple to post a video on Twitter, Facebook and the like.
All people have to do is click a button and they’re able to watch what you’ve submitted. And the point is, they’re probably more likely to do that than read a wordy post.
