The fact is, burnouts don’t just happen at the end of the year, the beginning of the year is just as tough for those that don’t feel all that recharged after a busy holiday filled with chores and obligations.??

In this article, we look at 5 ways that you can recharge throughout the year as if you were on an extended holiday!?

Fully Unplug One Day Per Week

While this is difficult to do for online entrepreneurs, especially ones with a growing business, your business may actually benefit from you taking some well-deserved time off every week. Go somewhere you enjoy, with family and friends, or by yourself, and set up an away message for your store, team, and ignore all messages, phone calls, and emails. You’ll find yourself in a much better place mentally, and your business will benefit in the long term.

Change Your Environment?

Remote work is the new normal, coupled with the widespread availability of internet connectivity and cloud services, you can run your business from anywhere. Companies like Shopify, Airbnb, and SHOPLAZZA are also actively recruiting for remote positions that can be performed from all international locations. Working in different environments will surely spark your creativity, and the difference in living costs around the world means that you can work from exotic places for at least a couple of months at a time.???

Make a Habit of Mindfulness?

Mindfulness means taking yourself out of your immediate surroundings and becoming aware of your existence in the greater scheme of things. In order to avoid burnout from repetitive or meaningless tasks, you should make it a habit to detach yourself from your work throughout the day, by means of meditation or breathing exercises, and reassess your place in the world. Mindfulness isn’t only reserved for vacation time, you can do it anywhere!?

Know and Respect Your Limits?

For online entrepreneurs, unplugging is easier said than done. We hear so many stories from business owners who claim to have never taken a vacation while they were building their businesses. And while this may work for some people, most online business owners can certainly use some time off. Train yourself to recognize signs that indicate you are nearing your limit. Are you snapping at your team members? Is sarcasm creeping into your tone when communicating for your business? Take the rest of the day off and go for a bike ride, you’ll thank yourself later.??

Exercise Intensively in Short Bursts

Exercise eliminates stress, you really don’t need to hear this from us. But did you know that intense exercise in short bursts, such as sprinting a lap at full speed, swimming the length of a pool as fast as you can, or sparring for 3-minute rounds, then repeating it over again is 3 times as effective as eliminating stress than going for a long walk at a slower pace, or jogging? Okay, we made up the 3 times part but the high that you get from intense exercise can be so overwhelming that work stress becomes completely non-existent (be sure to consult a medical professional before getting on a new exercise routine).??
