Adaptability is a key to success, and during my time at Bangkit 2024, I found that five areas of adaptation—how we interact, achieve, learn, work, and think—were critical in shaping my experience. Here's how I adapted in each area:
1. Adapting the Way I Interact
Bangkit is a passionate community where discussions are key. To fit in, I adapted my communication style based on the diverse backgrounds of my peers and mentors. I also became more comfortable using English as the main language, which helped me engage more confidently in conversations and contribute effectively to the program.
2. Adapting the Way I Achieve
The goals I set for myself at Bangkit were different from my usual academic pursuits. Here, I had to balance my responsibilities between learning, project work, and personal growth. I adapted by setting clear, actionable milestones for both individual and team-based assignments. Tools like time management frameworks and project tracking helped me stay on top of deadlines, ensuring that I achieved my goals consistently throughout the program.
3. Adapting the Way I Learn
Bangkit’s hands-on, real-world approach to learning required me to step out of my comfort zone. I moved beyond theoretical learning to build actual projects in machine learning. This shift from passive to active learning was challenging but also incredibly rewarding. I adapted by leveraging platforms like Coursera and Dicoding, completing certifications that deepened my knowledge while applying these skills in practical settings. Self-discipline became my best friend.

4. Adapting the Way I Work
During the Bangkit program, I had to adjust to remote learning and collaboration. To stay productive, I created a dedicated study schedule and organized my tasks efficiently. Balancing multiple courses and project work required me to adapt my time management skills, ensuring I stayed on track with deadlines and team deliverables. I also learned to be more proactive in reaching out to peers and mentors whenever I faced challenges, which helped me maintain momentum and complete tasks effectively within the program’s structure.
5. Adapting the Way I Think
Finally, one of the most important adaptations was in my mindset. Bangkit pushed me to adopt a growth mindset—an openness to challenges, feedback, and continuous learning. I learned to embrace failure as a learning opportunity and to be resilient in the face of difficulties. This shift in thinking allowed me to overcome obstacles, whether they were technical issues with machine learning models or time management challenges.
Bangkit 2024 has been an eye-opening experience that not only advanced my technical skills but also transformed how I approach interactions, achievement, learning, working, and thinking. It’s been a journey of personal and professional growth, and I look forward to applying these lessons in my future endeavors.
