5 Ways of Adaptability: My Journey in Bangkit

Joining the Bangkit Academy 2024 program has been a challenging journey filled with excitement and a bit of panic. This program required quick adaptation in a dynamic environment. From collaborating with diverse teams to mastering technical skills, I learned to adjust my mindset and work style to achieve my goals effectively. With some humor and a lot of snacks, I found I could tackle any challenge. Who would have thought an online experience like this could bring both learning and laughter?

Here are five main areas where I adapted during Bangkit:

1. ?Adapting in Interaction

At Bangkit, I met students, mentors, and professionals from many backgrounds. Effective communication was key. I learned to clarify my ideas during ILT sessions, weekly consultation, and capstone discussions. Active listening and constructive feedback built relationships, And now, I have many good friends at Bangkit.

2. Adapting in Achievement

Time management and setting priorities were essential. Sorting tasks by urgency let me focus on important goals. This approach kept me on track, helping me achieve milestones without feeling overwhelmed. Preparation and consistency became keys to success.

3. Adapting in Learning

Bangkit’s self-paced curriculum pushed me beyond my comfort zone. I set a study routine and resisted distractions like my phone. “Time is what we want most, but what we use worst” felt very true. With discipline, learning became routine, and I improved in areas I hadn’t focused on before.

4. Adapting in Work

Bangkit introduced me to a miniature real-world work environment. Self-learning, deadlines, and capstone projects taught me flexibility. Teamwork became about balancing individual and group goals, and tools like Notion and Google Calendar kept us on track.

5. Adapting in Thinking

A valuable lesson I learned was how every challenge could shift my mindset towards growth. At first, I often doubted my own abilities to meet the demands of the program. However, over time, I started to see every difficulty not as an obstacle, but as an opportunity to learn and grow. By being open to new experiences and accepting feedback from others, I became more accustomed to facing challenges with curiosity, turning them into valuable learning processes.

Ultimately, my initial worries about joining Bangkit have turned into pride. Bangkit was more than just an online program, it became a valuable experience that sharpened my skills and mindset.
