5 Ways of Adaptability

5 Ways of Adaptability

I learned about the 5 Ways we need to adapt, namely ways of interacting, achieving, learning, working, and thinking. On this occasion, I would like to share my experience about 5 ways to adapt during the Bangkit 2023 program.

1. Ways of Interacting

Interaction is a form of human social activity. When interacting, we are sometimes limited by the age range of the person we are talking to, language, topic of conversation, and differences in the characteristics of the person we are talking to. Bangkit 2023 is an ideal place to develop interaction skills because it has a heterogeneous environment. I learned a lot of things and tried to apply good interaction methods to several different conditions. This is an interesting experience to communicate well with people you have just met.

2. Ways of Achieving

Developing understanding in the field of data science, especially machine learning, making meaningful connections with others who share similar values or interests, and trying new things are my goals for joining this program. For me sticking to my goals can be the driving force in motivating me to take action, overcome obstacles, and persevere in the face of challenges. I try to learn as much as possible and take advantage of the opportunities, try to get acquainted with new people, and try to be brave enough to try new things to achieve those goals. One thing that I emphasize is that I should not act arbitrarily and must comply with the prevailing norms.

3. Ways of Learning

I learned many lessons in Bangkit 2023, especially deepening soft skills and hard skills. One form of soft skill that I gained in this activity was the ability to manage teams and time. This management education is an important aspect so that we can complete all the work we have efficiently. In this program, I also learned the application of Python, Tableau, GitHub, and Linkedin which are included in the realm of hard skills.

4. Ways of Working

I began to adapt to the way of work as a “programmer”, which has many tasks and short deadlines. At Bangkit, several tools in working, such as Google Classroom, google calendar, Google Meet, and many more are very helpful in increasing my productivity even when I have many deadlines

5. Ways of Thinking

I was introduced to the concepts of growth mindset and fixed mindset. What is a fixed mindset and a growth mindset? In simple terms, a fixed mindset is a mindset that determines humans to have a static condition that is incapable of developing better, and vice versa with a growth mindset. By applying a growth mindset, we will have the potential to prepare ourselves better and encourage ourselves to continue to develop all the time.
