5 Ways of Adaptability

Adaptability is essential for navigating change and achieving our goals. Through the Bangkit 2024 program by Bangkit Academy led by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, & Traveloka , I enhanced my technical and academic skills while developing a resilient mindset. Here’s how I evolved in five key areas during this transformative experience:

Ways of Interacting

Bangkit connected me with individuals from across Indonesia who share similar passions. Engaging with such a diverse group was both exciting and challenging, especially online. I learned the importance of active participation, whether by joining discussions or turning on my camera during sessions. These efforts fostered genuine connections and made our interactions more meaningful. Collaborating with peers from various backgrounds enriched my experience.

Ways of Achieving

Balancing college coursework, writing my thesis, and keeping up with Bangkit’s pace was demanding. I adapted by using Google Calendar and task management tools to organize my schedule. Breaking projects into manageable tasks helped me stay on top of deadlines and maintain progress without feeling overwhelmed. This structured approach ensured I could achieve my academic and Bangkit goals simultaneously.

Ways of Learning

As a geodetic engineering student, coding isn’t my primary focus, so entering the machine learning cohort was a significant shift. The intensive coding requirements posed a challenge. I grounded my understanding in foundational theory and gradually worked through coding exercises, connecting theory to practice. Using video tutorials for clarification helped bridge my knowledge gap and made coding more accessible.

To balance my commitments, I structured my days for productivity. Mornings and afternoons were dedicated to university tasks, while evenings focused on Bangkit. Engaging with modules was crucial for skill-building. By tracking deadlines, I ensured I met every task, helping me stay organized and engaged.

Ways of Thinking

While Bangkit’s emphasis on machine learning deepened my technical knowledge, it also fostered soft skills. I learned to collaborate effectively and adapt to feedback. Embracing a growth mindset encouraged me to tackle new challenges and learn from both successes and setbacks. This approach has shaped my thinking, helping me grow as a learner and a future professional.

Bangkit 2024 has been a journey of adaptability and growth, equipping me with the skills to tackle challenges in an evolving field. I am grateful for this opportunity and excited to apply these lessons moving forward.
