5 Ways of adaptability
When I first joined Bangkit Academy led by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, & Traveloka , I felt a little bit scared. My mind was wandering through all the spaces of my brain. "Could I do this?" "I've never learned something like this before. Can I make it?" "This is a really hard concept. It's impossible for me to understand this concept at a glance," and so on.
But as the days went by, I managed to adapt to that situation. I succeeded in grasping hard concepts. I learned my way to learn at a fast pace while still understanding the core concept of it. There are five things that I do to adapt to this new environment: interacting, achieving, learning, working, and thinking. Now, let me give the concept and the way I achieved my milestones in Bangkit Academy led by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, & Traveloka with this kind of thinking!
A. Interacting
Interacting is the core value of the Bangkit program. I've met so many people from different campuses and cities through attending Bangkit sessions and participating in weekly mentorship with my group. Interacting has made me more confident and less isolated.
This motivates me to push myself further because when I interact with people, it makes me think, "If that person can do it and enjoy it, then I can too." So, by interacting, it speeds up my process of adaptation.
B. Achieveing
What I like about Bangkit is that they don't just leave us to study on our own without support. They congratulate us when we finish and provide us with a certificate, which makes the study process more enjoyable. It also helps transition me to not be scared because in the end, I need to earn that certificate and learn as much as I can. By participating in ILT (Individual Learning Track) Soft Skill and Technical sessions, it becomes easier to learn. It doesn't make me feel alone, and I actually have a safe place to be clueless and learn new thing's.
C. Learning

There is no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end. - master shifu
From that quote, it's evident that small acts can lead to significant impacts, and that's precisely what I learned from Bangkit. My mentor, Andi Arzatwan, is an excellent mentor. He teaches us a lot and helps us overcome difficulties in Bangkit. I've learned so many new skills in this program in just one month. Starting from technical skills like deploying on Google Cloud, to even creating a Minecraft server (yes, we made it, and it was actually fun!). Additionally, I've gained soft skills like how to communicate effectively with peers and maintaining a positive mindset. So, these small acts, like mentors helping us and all the support from friends, have made a big impact on our ability to adapt to challenging situations.
D. Working
Working through problems is very hard, especially with just two weeks of learning. Sometimes, I feel it's not enough time. However, with good time management and not over-stressing about difficult projects, working becomes more fun and enjoyable. So, the key is not to over-stress. Try to take your time and relax for a bit. But not too relax either hahaha. Try to find a time that you can adjust. Not to stress and not too relax.
E. Thinking
Oh, this topic is incredibly critical, and Bangkit teaches us about it from the start. It's about the growth mindset versus the fixed mindset. Our thinking is crucial here. With erroneous thinking, it can lead to a miserable study experience. However, with a mindset that believes in continuous growth, it will make us resilient and capable of adapting to any difficult situation.
In conclusion, Bangkit Academy led by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, & Traveloka has transformed my approach to day-to-day life. I've learned a multitude of things, not just technical skills, but also how to cultivate the right mindset for learning and how to tackle missions that initially seem impossible. In the end, you'll find yourself saying, "Huh, I made it?"
