In Soft Skill ILT 3 at Bangkit, I learned about Stress Management, Adaptability, and Resilience. I think it's really important to be able to manage stress, adapt to change, and develop resilience to deal with different challenges in work and life. Because Life is about learning to adapt to all the changes that happen around us.
I learned a lot about adaptability in the ILT Soft Skills. These 5 ways have helped me in my development process to become a better personality. So, I’ll share my 5 Ways adaptability experience when I joined the Bangkit Academy program.
1. Ways of Interacting
I realized that every interaction is an opportunity to learn and grow. Bangkit facilitates various platforms and opportunities that make it easier for us to interact and communicate with each other, such as Instructor-Led Training (ILT) sessions, Weekly Consultations, and Discord channels, for supporting and sharing information. On the first day, I was a little shy about interacting with new peers and mentors, but it's a waste if you don't use the facilities well, so I ventured out to interact with my cohort friends on Discord and also with mentors at the Weekly Consultation, We've also learned to work together, and it's a great experience to learn how to communicate in different ways and deal with cultural differences.
2. Ways of Achieving
I had to change how I set goals and managed my time to complete all my assignments. I planned my time to attend Intensive Learning Tracks (ILT), and complete assignments and online courses. I learned to do the most important tasks first and to break large projects into smaller parts. This helped me stay organized and meet deadlines. After we complete all the tasks, Bangkit will give us some milestone points for achievements.
3. Ways of Learning
As a Software Engineering student. honestly, I didn't have too much difficulty adapting because I had learned the basic material in lectures, but by following this program I was able to focus more on learning material about mobile development. Bangkit's learning style was self-paced, which meant I had to adapt my learning strategy. If I didn't understand something, I had to be resourceful. I would look for extra study material. This flexibility in my learning helped me to learn deeply.
4. Ways of Working
I learned how important it is to be flexible and quickly adapt to changes in tasks and responsibilities. so, I maximize my opportunities for good and effective time management because I need to balance the busy activities at Bangkit Academy with activities outside of Bangkit Academy. I became proactive by managing my time well, prioritizing tasks, and creating a schedule in the Google Calendar. It makes me more organized and it's what I do to adapt to the workload of my current life.
5. Ways of Thinking
"The key to success is transforming the mindset of 'I can't' into 'I will learn how'." - Tom Bilyeu
And the last one is one of the biggest changes in how I thought. I shifted from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset. This meant I saw failures as opportunities to learn and grow, not as the end of the road. Embracing a growth mindset helped me approach challenges with a positive attitude and the belief that I could improve. It opened up new possibilities and gave me confidence in solving complex problems.
During my time in the Bangkit 2024 program, I've had the opportunity to grow and evolve as an individual through various aspects of adaptability. I've learned to embrace change, conquer challenges, and evolve into a stronger version of myself. This whole experience taught me a lot about my own strength and gave me a new-found belief in myself. It also helped me feel more at ease and confident when it comes to whatever lies ahead.
