5 Ways of Adaptability: Bangkit Machine Learning Path 2023

" It is not the strongest of species that survives, not the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is more adaptable to change," said Charles Darwin. I still remembered when my biology teacher explained why the dinosaurs got extinct while humans survive. This quote has inspired me to be an adaptable person in every place and situation where I belong, especially when I moved to a new environment.

In this article, I will share my experience about how I adapt to the Bangkit 2023 program. There are 5 ways of adaptability, such as Ways of Interacting, Ways of Achieving, Ways of Learning, Ways of Working, and Ways of Thinking.

1.Ways of Interacting

There are more than 5000 people in Bangkit 2023 program that comes from many different universities, cultures, age range, etc. Even though sometimes I am an introvert, I tried to connect with all of the students, mentors, and facilitators in this program. After I try to know more people, I met many good and close friends in this program. This is really beneficial because I can meet people who have the same interest in tech, especially Machine Learning, Mobile Development, and Cloud Computing. Moreover, my LinkedIn followers increased sharply from 3000 followers to 4000 followers.

2. Ways of Achieving

Bangkit program sets a really tight deadline for all the courses. We need to be adaptable with a very fast pace of learning. It was really challenging at some times because I still have other duties in my universities and doing some internships. I always set some targets on my own calendar so that I will not miss any deadlines. I use the prioritization framework to manage my work.

3. Ways of Learning

The materials in the Bangkit are really hard in some parts. There are many materials that I have never learned before. In order to understand the materials, I always find partner and also do active discussions with other peers in my class. During the ILT session, I always give some difficult questions to the lecturers so that I can know the materials beyond the scope.

4. Ways of Working

There are many new tools that I should learn in this program. I use google calendar and Notion to prioritize my activities. I do the prioritization based on the Eisenhower framework. In terms of programming, I learn how to use TensorFlow, Python, Scikit Learn, Putty, R, etc., to do the assignment.

5. Ways of Thinking

In terms of ways of thinking, I learn to implement the growth mindset in all activities. When I face some difficulties, I will try even harder. I practiced and watched the videos again. Once I got stuck, I will ask for help from my peers to discuss the problem together.

After all, adaptability is one of the important soft skills that you should master it. God has given us the ability to adapt. It is just how we develop our adaptability. In the end, it is the key to survive in the fast-moving world.
