5 Ways of Adaptability as Bangkit Cohort: Are you ready to take your adaptability to the next level?

Hello Everyone!

Did you know Adaptability is an essential skill in today's ever-changing world? Adaptability is not an inherent talent. It's a skill that can be honed over time. Then, the best part? It can be a fun trip! It all starts with cultivating a growth mindset and welcoming new experiences and challenges with open arms.

Joining the Bangkit 2023 program presents many adaptability challenges, and I will explain how I adapted in each of the five ways of adapting as a Bangkit Cohort

Ways of Interacting

By participating in the Bangkit 2023 Program, I learned how to adapt, namely by interacting with friends and mentors.

Initially, this was a bit difficult for me because English is not a native language for me. But as time goes by and with the determination to continue learning. The process of interacting with friends from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds taught me to appreciate differences more and treat this experience as a valuable opportunity to grow.

Ways of Achieving

Bangkit 2023 Program has goals that have been set so that we can exceed them. The program emphasizes project management methodologies and Agile principles, which helped me become more organized, adaptable, and efficient in achieving my goals. Continuous feedback and self-assessment played a significant role in this process.

“Success is not obtained overnight. It comes in installments; you get a little bit today, a little bit tomorrow until the whole package is given out. The day you procrastinate, you lose that day's success.” ― Israelmore Ayivor

Ways of Learning

Bangkit exposed me to a wide range of new technologies and concepts in machine learning. The emphasis on lifelong learning and adaptability was a core aspect of the Bangkit 2023 program, and it challenged me to continually expand my knowledge and skillset.

Ways of Working

In the ILT: Time Management session, I learned a lot! Especially, regarding how I can set 'Task Priority'. Starting from things that have a high level of urgency to the smallest but important things, such as taking time to rest for a moment.

Currently getting a new learning pattern! Don't postpone tasks for too long, because it will boomerang when I don't have enough time. Doing assignments little by little and setting 8 hours per day for studying is the most enjoyable thing for me right now!

Ways of Thinking

I learned that it is important for us to have a growth mindset because it helps me grow, learn from failure, and reach my full potential. With a Growth Mindset, I tend to be more open to challenges, feel confident to learn new things, and am not afraid to try. This allows me to overcome obstacles, improve skills, and better achieve goals. On the other hand, if I have a fixed mindset it can hinder my personal growth and development.

In conclusion, the Bangkit 2023 Program gave me many opportunities to understand myself more deeply and learn to adapt to a new learning environment. Then, these five ways of adaptation not only helped me in this program but also equipped me with valuable skills for the world that continues to develop outside this program.
