In my experience with the Bangkit Academy 2024 program, I encountered a dynamic environment where adaptability was not just a desirable trait but an essential skillset for success. Through the structured led sessions by Bangkit Academy led by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, & Traveloka , I gained invaluable insights into stress management, adaptability, and resilience, crucial for navigating the complexities of the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) era.
Let's dive into how I applied the five key areas of adaptability – Interacting, Achieving, Learning, Working, and Thinking – at Bangkit Academy 2024:
1. Ways Of Interacting
Bangkit adopted an English-first environment, requiring me to adapt my interaction style. Embracing this change not only improved my English skills, but also allowed for smooth communication with cohorts from diverse backgrounds. Engaging in diverse online interactions through platforms like LinkedIn, Google Meet and Discord enhanced my communication skills and fostered personal growth.
2. Ways Of Achieving
Instead of competing with others, I focused on personal growth, finding motivation in the program's environment. Setting clear goals and breaking them into achievable milestones kept me on track, even when things got tough. Utilizing mentorship and online resources like Dicoding and Coursera to progress steadily. This approach allowed me to prioritize effectively and focus on continuous improvement.
3. Ways Of Learning
Bangkit provided a diverse learning experience that included projects, interactive sessions, and self-directed study. Creating a structured study plan, seeking out extra resources, and actively taking part in sessions were key to my adaptation. Accepting feedback and having a growth mindset enabled me to quickly adapt to new knowledge and make effective use of various learning resources.
4. Ways Of Working
For me, workspace adaptability required quick problem solving and effective time management. Balancing Bangkit activities with other roles required discipline and efficient use of tools like Google Calendar. Then, collaborative problem solving and open discussion became the key to overcome obstacles in project work and fostering a culture of adaptability and collaboration.
5. Ways Of Thinking
Bangkit taught me a growth mindset through the ILT session, encouraging me to face challenges with curiosity and resilience. I learned to see uncertainty as an opportunity for innovative solutions and personal growth. By adapting my thinking to embrace new perspectives and approaches, I turned obstacles into stepping stones to achieve my goals.
In short, my experience with the Bangkit 2024 program shows the importance of adaptability in navigating the complexities of today's era. By embracing change, setting goals, leveraging resources, collaborating effectively, and fostering a growth mindset, I not only thrived with the program, but also developed invaluable skills for success in both my personal and professional life.
