5 Ways of Adaptability at Bangkit 2023

Embarking on the journey through the Bangkit Academy led by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, & Traveloka was an enriching experience that demanded adaptability, resilience, and a fresh outlook on various aspects of personal and professional growth. This program challenged me to navigate a dynamic landscape of learning and development, prompting me to redefine how I interacted, achieved, learned, worked, and ultimately, how I thought. Here are the five adaptability dimensions I've actively embraced upon enrolling in the Bangkit 2023.

Ways of Interacting

Bangkit demanded versatile communication skills. While English served as the formal language of communication, I embraced the challenge of adapting my interaction style to suit various situations and individuals. During the ILT sessions, I tried to actively engaged as a cohort by posing questions and providing answers in English, enhancing my confidence and fluency in the language. Moreover, on capstone project, where I worked closely with peers from diverse backgrounds and personalities. This experience further honed my ability to communicate effectively and navigate the intricacies of teamwork.

Ways of Achieving

Bangkit presented me with a challenge, urging me to change how I reach my goals. As a cohort, I pursued success by tackling each milestone. This involved attending all sessions, complete the courses, and a commitment to meeting assignment deadlines. I also put in my max effort on the capstone project, because Huge Goals + Max Effort = Massive Results. Adapting my strategies for success, I didn't just aim to meet the program requirements, I aimed to do even better, pushing myself to achieve excellence.

Ways of Learning

Bangkit operates entirely online, a format I was already familiar with due to my experience with online classes during the pandemic. The self-paced learning approach also encouraged me to maintain a high level of focus throughout my studies. To enhance my learning, I took full advantage of the platform provided by Bangkit to seek clarification when I found the study materials challenging. The support of my teammates also played a significant role in making my journey even more effective and enjoyable.

Ways of Working

Adapt to Bangkit schedule that requires a full-time commitment, with a minimum of 8 hours dedicated to learning every day. Furthermore, the program utilized Discord as the official platform for group discussions, which I am used to using WhatsApp. I made an effort to adjust and regularly check the Discord channel to stay updated and connected.

Ways of Thinking

Critical thinking and growth mindset were fundamental in Bangkit. Whenever I found myself struggling to keep up with the course materials, I made a conscious effort not to give in to frustration. Instead, I maintained an optimistic mindset and developed resilience to overcome these obstacles. Bangkit not only sharpened my problem-solving skills but also instilled a mindset that empowers me to approach life challenges with unwavering confidence.
