5 Ways of Adaptability

Over the past few months, I have been participating in the Google Bangkit program and have learned many new things, including hard and soft skills. One interesting lesson that I have learned is related to the ability to adapt. Adaptation is important because we need to be able to change and adjust ourselves to the constantly changing environment and situations. In the rapidly evolving world of technology, the ability to adapt is crucial.

So, let me share my experiences of applying 5 ways of adaptability during my college life and participation in The Bangkit 2023 Program at present.

1. Interacting

As a student in the Machine Learning program at Google Bangkit Academy, it is important to be able to interact with various people, including classmates, groups, mentors, and instructors. In practice, interactions may have barriers or challenges such as language, personality, and different academic backgrounds. Nevertheless, these interactions need to be built to facilitate the learning process during the Google Bangkit program. As a student, I strive to actively interact with others as one way to demonstrate adaptability in this field. I actively participate in weekly consultation sessions, where I interact with classmates and my mentor. From the interactions I have built with them, I feel more comfortable adapting to the Bangkit program. In addition, I can also learn from their experiences and perspectives, as well as build valuable connections that can help me in the future. I also make an effort to actively interact with the instructor during class so that I stay focused and have a better understanding of the material being presented.

2. Achieving

As a student in the Machine Learning program at Google Bangkit Academy, I have specific goals that I aim to achieve. In order to attain these goals, it is crucial for me to be adaptable and flexible towards the learning style at Google Bangkit. One way that I demonstrate these abilities is by organizing a schedule of my various activities, both in the Google Bangkit program and my university coursework, and prioritizing the important ones. I maintain discipline in following this schedule so that I don't neglect any of my responsibilities. By following this approach, I have successfully earned several course certificates that can help me in achieving my larger goals.

3. Learning

As a student in the Machine Learning program at Google Bangkit Academy, it is my responsibility to continuously learn and acquire new skills, both hard and soft skills. One way I adapt in this field is by utilizing the facilities provided by Google Bangkit, such as online courses, classroom learning, and consultation with mentors. Not only that, but I also seek other sources such as books, the internet, or social media if there is any material that I do not understand.

4. Working

As we know, the learning process at Google Bangkit is very rigorous and challenging. There are several classes, assignments, and courses that need to be completed every week. Based on my experience, creating a schedule and prioritizing each activity is something that I always apply during my time at Google Bangkit. Additionally, I also form study teams with my classmates so that any difficulties we encounter can be discussed and resolved together.

5. Thinking

The important learning from ways of thinking is to make us a person with a growth mindset. This mindset is very important to apply especially in the Google Bangkit program. There are many great people involved in this program so if we don't have a growth mindset, we will always be pessimistic. One way I always apply a growth mindset is by saying "I can" in everything I do. Besides, I also always try to think creatively and critically so that I can maximize this growth mindset.

Overall, adaptability is crucial in our personal and professional lives, especially in this increasingly advanced digital era. All the learnings and experiences throughout the Bangkit Program have helped me significantly develop my adaptability skills.
