5 Types Of Snapchat Content That Work

5 Types Of Snapchat Content That Work

Snapchat, no doubt you’ve heard of it, it’s the place where all the cool kids have gone now Facebook is dead (it’s not) and Twitter is full of trolls (it is). But what can you do with it?

How do you do brandter on something you can’t even post a status to? Don’t worry, if you’ve decided 2017 is going to be the year you finally get round to conquering Snapchat, here are five types on content you can do on Snapchat that work.

1 – The Takeover

This is the go to bit of content when it comes to marketing on Snapchat.

Hand over the keys to your account to one of your fans/celebrity endorsers/current students so that your audience can see what their life is like.

Just keep in mind that nobody likes a Snapchat story that drags on and on. Try and keep your takeovers to 12 snaps max.

2 – The notice board

Notice the notices on this notice board

Got some things you’d like to share with your snapchat fam? Turn your story in to a notice board so they can see what’s up.

This works great for promoting upcoming events, or in this example, jobs that are available. To drive traffic to a website for more info, use the snap caption to add a URL. People will then screengrab the snaps they’re interested in for more info.

3 – The snap and share

Snap and share your feelings

Give your snapchats something to engage with.

By sharing something your followers can interact with and have fun, you can boost your engagement figures. Not only that, but add in your snapcode to the design to help help spread your account name around and get more followers.

4 – The poll

Find out more about your followers by doing some audience research and giving them things to vote on.

Not only will you get a bit a of (not so scientific) insight in to your followers, you’ll also boost your engagement rates with all the screen grabs.

5 – The doodle comp

Give your followers something to do with the chance to quickly doodle on your assets.

Send me your doodles, your scribbles and your drawings

One of the main features of Snapchat is the ability to draw all over pictures and stick emoji stickers on things. Why not unleash your audience’s creativity and give them things to doodle all over?

You can then share the best ones in your story to showcase their talents and maybe even ask for votes to award a prize for the best ones.

But what about followers

So there are five types of content that work on Snapchat, but what about getting an audience to see them? Snapchat is absolutely terrible for account discovery. But don’t worry, there are still ways to build an audience.

And what about stats

Snapchat is also terrible for providing useful stats to measure your efforts. There is a way to measure your efforts to show some kind of return on your time, but that’s the topic for another blog another time.
