There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing. ~ Aristotle
Criticism and judgment happens regardless of your choice to play it safe or make that bold move you've been dreaming about to a new city. Yes, people will likely gossip and say unkind things about you when you decide to pursue a new job in a different career field. And yeah, friends and family might say you're crazy when you decide to start your own business or create and launch a new product line. Yep, fear of what other people think can often be crippling. Really, I know… I’ve faced it too.
Here's a sweet little secret I learned a few years back when I was dealing with haters, critics, and the judgments of others: Whether you do it or you don't... You'll always face critics and haters in your life.
Truth: No matter what path you choose, there are going to be people in your world who just don’t get it and who refuse to keep their negative opinions about your choices to themselves.
Truth: Whether you courageously assert your view, or it trickles out in little nuances, there are going to be people [haters] who don’t like what you have to say.
As heartbreaking as it is, it simply… is.
So why not "do the damn thang" anyway?
Truth: If you are going to be criticized and judged in any case, you might as well be living the life of your dreams.
Truth: Learning to let go of the criticisms, judgments, and opinions of others is incredibly freeing... Seriously, you can stop protecting yourself from their judgment by simply finding your inner-peace with who you are, having self-confidence in your goals and dreams, and reminding yourself of your self-worth for a beautiful life despite the negative views of others.
Here’s the best bad news I have for you: Your critics - those judging haters who gossip about your dreams, criticize your goals, label your motives and behavior, and put down your choices - they aren’t even in the arena. They sit on the sidelines of life and look down at the players [YOU] with envy.
So the next time you feel like quitting or giving up on your goals and dreams because of the criticism, judgment, and hate from the people on the sidelines of life… Remember this last truth: Those who can’t, judge and criticize those who can!!!
So go ahead… Ignore your haters.
Take risks. Be bold. Do the damn thang anyway!!!

6 年Are you judging the spelling of judgment??? Many people do... Did you know that both are equally correct??? Judgement is used more widely in British English while judgment (without the e) is common in American English. Two spellings - one word - with the exact same relevence and meaning... My point: Just one more way we can banish being judgemental and change our judgmental minds to see equality in our world today!!! #nojudgement #noshame #stopthehate #endjudgment #liveyourtruth #yesyoucan #bethechange
