5 Top Questions answered about Experts Live Europe - Part II

In case you missed my previous Q&A article, including the introduction to Experts Live and the first 5 top questions, you can read it here.

Now it's time to cover the next 5 questions our organization has received in the past months, since the big announcement of the date and location of Experts Live Europe 2018.

1. I already went to an Experts Live event in my country, what’s the added value of attending a regional conference like Experts Live Europe?

Country events are great to meet with your local community, learn from mostly your national plus some international experts and spend one day packed with knowledge, networking and fun at a location not that far from you. (Well depends how big the country is ??) The difference with Experts Live Europe is that it’s a multi-day event with international speakers from all over the world. Because of the 3 conference days, there’s the opportunity for more tracks, more sessions and more conference evening activities for networking with your peers. The Experts Live spirit is the same as at any other local event near you, you just get to enjoy it much longer!

2. Experts Live Europe always used to be in August – why the move to October this year?

The biggest Microsoft conference MS Ignite takes place in September in Orlando, Florida. So, having Experts Live Europe the month before Ignite, would not make a lot of sense in terms of presenting the latest releases and software updates. Now with ELEU18 taking place after Microsoft Ignite where many of our experts are speaking and attending sessions to further develop themselves, allows our experts to present the absolute latest what has just been announced or released. Also, if you can’t attend MS Ignite in the United States, Experts Live Europe shortly after is a great solution to get yourself up-to-date with the newest technologies and features.

3. There’s a pre-conference day for the first time this year at Experts Live Europe, what’s it all about?

In my opinion, conferences in general are valuable to attend. You meet lots of new people, you reconnect with the ones you know, you acquire new business partners, you make new friends, you learn a lot about topics which matter to your day-to-day job and you have a short break from your usual office-life routine. This allows you to get fresh ideas, learn from others with the same or different interests, hear different opinions and bring all of this back home to your work. That said, we believe that going even deeper into the (Microsoft)technologies, gives you next to the values I mentioned above even more valuable conference outcomes. Therefore, we added the pre-conference day this year with 3 deep dive tracks:

Track 1 | Cloud Optimization & Security - core 4 crash COURSE | by Microsoft MVP Pete Zerger

Track 2 | Managing and Deploying Windows 10 like it is mend to be | by Microsoft RD & MVP Kent Agerlund and Microsoft MVP Marius A. Skovli

Track 3 | Defining the Ops in DevOps | by Microsoft MVP Damian Flynn

Each track will last the entire day on Oct 24th from 09:00 - 17:00 (limited seats available), including coffee breaks and lunch. In case you would like to learn more about the pre-conference tracks, read about them here.

4. What is the difference in the four types of conference passes for Experts Live Europe this year?

As preferences can be different for everyone and one size does not fit all, ELEU18 offers different ticket types to choose from. You can go for the full conference experience including the pre-conf or get a ticket for the main conference only. Next to that, you also have the option to go for a *VIP* Pass, which gives access to the VIP Party in Hilton Cloud9 Sky Bar & Lounge. A large buffet with various types of food (see the "MMMMMenu" here) and drinks are included in your VIP ticket. And best of all, you get to meet the partners and experts in a fun and easy going setting before the main conference starts.

Will there be a live stream, or can I (re)watch the session recordings after the event?

The answer to both questions unfortunately is no. There won’t be a live stream (apart from some live videos on social media) and this year there are no sessions recordings. Why? Because we’d like to meet you, we’d like you to meet others, and we’d like you to be able to ask direct questions to the experts and provide them with your session feedback. Also honestly, it's quite expensive to record 70+ sessions and time consuming to cut, edit and publish them afterwards. We rather dedicate this time after the conference to the preparations of the next edition of Experts Live Europe in 2019 :-)
