5 Top Lessons from an MBA in Dublin...so far!

Reflecting on my decision to leave a full-time position and move to a new country to study an MBA, five things immediately came to mind having passed the half-way milestone:-
- I learn as much from my classmates as my lecturers. Diverse opinions, backgrounds, experiences, ages, genders bring depth to the classroom.
- The business school’s connections enrich the program with events at Google, Qualtrics, HubSpot and sessions on AI, Blockchain, Design Thinking and Machine Learning from key Government representatives, International Academics and Industry Professionals in the growing tech capital of Europe. In the next few months, the school is hosting a Technology Business Forum and a Blockchain Summit Ireland will be in the city.
- Each lecturer brings a different approach to learning. Humour, brains, integrity, and caters to different learning styles, not to mention their dedication to the program with some coming from other countries to speak and others also already working full-time industry positions.
- The people of Dublin really are as friendly as their reputation, and not just if Guinness or Jameson is involved; literally all the time.
- It rains more than I thought possible (no really; it does!). Icelandic-made rainwear was top of my Christmas list.
Malcolm Gladwell was right his book Outliers; you can learn pretty much anything well with enough hours, access to excellent resources and the environment from smart people around you. I should know; I learnt financial statement analysis!
