5 Tools I Use Every Day in My Business (And Can't Live Without)

It's no secret that I'm Type A. I love a good process or tool to help make things more efficient and easier. Today, I'm going to share with you five of my favorite tools that I use every day in my business (and I can't live without).

My favorite of them all is Google Calendar. It's extremely versatile and keeps my life on track (literally), both personally and professionally. I have two calendars and I'm able to merge the events into one easy-to-read glance. Everyone in my family is color coded and my business events/meetings/calls are also color coded. I also use the task list to help keep top priorities front & center.

Another favorite (and not something that's new to anyone post 2020) - Zoom. Truth bomb...being a solopreneur can get kind of lonely at times (so thankful for my morning "hello's" from the local Starbucks baristas). Zoom allows that personal interaction that you just can't get through email or a phone call. It also allows me to work with clients all over the country (and world if needed). I have been able to establish great relationships with colleagues who live on the west coast thanks to zoom!

Speaking of working by yourself...I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Spotify and the amazing playlists I can explore each day! I'm not going to begin citing the thousands of pages of medical research that proves listening to music stimulates creativity (your welcome!). But it's true -- and you know there's nothing quite better than jamming out to some of your fave tunes (and even singing along at times!). It helps me get into a rhythm and it makes my work flow more smoothly.

Canva is a new addition this year - but it was love at first sight. It's a graphic design tool that makes it easy to create whatever type of visual you need (think...graphics for dummies!). There are hundreds of templates and layouts, so the possibilities for your brand images or social media posts is pretty much endless.

Last but not least, I have to give a shout out to Answer the Public. I use it to find out what people are searching for (and want) in any specific industry. Not only does it give me ideas on new content topics, but with the click of a button you can create ads and even email campaigns based off of your findings!

So there you have it. Hopefully, this list will inspire some of you to try out these five tools in your own businesses as well! If you do, please let me know what you think!
