Self-sabotage involves actions or attitudes that prevent you from achieving your most important life goals. It's that voice within our heads telling us "you can't do this."

Most of your fears are from your mind telling you that you can't do it. Make sure to face your fears.

Don't listen to the voices in your head.

Persistence is a personality trait that is characterized by the determination to achieve a goal despite the obstacles and delays that you may encounter.

Be persistent in your job search endeavors until you get that job you want.

Never give up!

Try to look at the glass as half-full instead of half-empty.

The old proverb goes “If you view the glass as half-full, you’re an optimist but if you see it half-empty, you’re a flat-out pessimist.”

We take this metaphor to be a truism, pushing ourselves to see our cups as full as possible.

You can't give your prospective employer if your cup is half empty or empty, so put your energy into being your best self. Try to:

  1. Improve your technical skills
  2. Build your organizational skills
  3. Boost your interpersonal skill

Learn from each interview

Do you think that a job interview can be successful even if you don't get the job?

Collecting feedback from the employer can help you obtain information useful for your further job search.

Below in the comments are 5 tips on how to ask for feedback and learn from it:

  1. Don’t be afraid to ask: When you find out the outcome of the interview, you have the right to feedback. Feel free to politely ask the interviewer to send you information that will help you in your future job search.
  2. Consider constructive feedback: Don’t take the feedback or possible criticism personally, but rather try to understand it as an opportunity to learn something, and prepare even better for the next interview.
  3. Use employer’s feedback to direct your job search: If the interviewer leaves you feedback that you have characteristics that are more suited to another position, consider that option as well. This can help you identify new positions to apply for and focus your attention on.
  4. Ask yourself what feedback you would give yourself: Don’t rely only on the feedback you received from an interviewer. Ask yourself what you could have done differently. However, avoid being too self-critical.
  5. Work on the flaws that the job interviewer pointed out: If you get feedback that you need to improve a certain skill or that the answer to the question was not enough, work on it so that you are ready for the next interview.

Are you or someone you know currently job hunting and questions whether you have what it takes? You need not worry!?
